448 delegates attended the 17th Hanoi Women's Congress

On the morning of November 13, the Hanoi Women's Union held a press meeting to introduce the 17th Hanoi Women's Congress, term 2025-2030.

The 17th Hanoi Women's Congress will take place on November 20 and 21 at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Cultural Palace, with the participation of 448 outstanding delegates, representing millions of women in the capital.

The oldest delegate is Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Thi An (82 years old) and the youngest is Dam Dieu Linh (21 years old). The official session of the Congress took place on the morning of November 21.

Speaking at the meeting, Permanent Vice President of the Hanoi Women's Union Pham Thi Thanh Huong said: In the period of 2021-2025, the women's movement and the Union's activities have many new developments, affirming the core role in gathering, mobilizing and encouraging women in the capital to contribute their talents and creativity to the common development of the capital and the country. Each success of the Union always has the close and timely accompaniment, support and cooperation of news agencies and newspapers.

Comrade Pham Thi Thanh Huong informed that after the success of the grassroots women's congress, at this time, the city's women's union is urgently preparing the content and necessary conditions for organizing the 17th Hanoi women's congress. The congress was chosen by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union as a model for non-merged provinces and cities.

With the theme: "Promoting the thousand-year tradition of civilization and heroism, Hanoi women are united, intelligent, and have the aspiration to rise up in the new era, building a strong Women's Union; contributing to promoting gender equality; developing a civilized, modern, and happy capital", the Congress will focus on evaluating the results of the 16th term, determining the goals and tasks of the 17th term, electing the 17th Executive Committee and the Delegation to attend the 14th National Women's Congress.

According to the City Women's Union, the documents submitted to the Congress were carefully prepared, with an online survey to collect opinions from over 12,376 cadres, members, and grassroots women, completed through 7 drafts. Personnel work was also carried out to ensure principles and procedures were followed.

Looking forward to the 17th City Women's Congress and the 18th City Vietnam Fatherland Front Congress, term 2025-2030, these days, the Capital Women's Union at all levels is enthusiastically launching a peak emulation campaign to achieve achievements to welcome the Congress.

In particular, all levels have carried out many practical projects and tasks to care for and support women and children in difficult circumstances, social security activities, beautify the environment, and actively propagate and thoroughly implement resolutions of party congresses at all levels.
