Proper nutrition requires eating enough of the 4 food groups (carbohydrates, fats, proteins, minerals and vitamins) and should combine many types of food from the above 4 groups. At the same time, it is necessary to eat enough according to the body's nutritional needs and ensure food hygiene and safety.

Eat on time

You should try to arrange your meals on time. Especially for children and the elderly, whose digestive systems do not work as well as adults, you need to take care of your meals and eat on time.

You should eat 3 meals a day, on time, do not skip meals or eat too much in one meal.

Supplement drinking water properly

Water is essential for the formation of cells and body fluids, for chemical reactions to occur, and for the production of urine to remove waste from the body. It is necessary to ensure adequate water intake to replace lost fluids.

You should not drink soft drinks or coffee because these drinks only help quench your thirst and do not hydrate your body as well as filtered water. Children should limit carbonated soft drinks because they increase calcium excretion through urine, the body does not have enough calcium to increase height, and high sugar levels make children obese.

At the same time, soft drinks, energy drinks, syrups... often contain a lot of sugar, so you should not use too much, especially if you need to avoid sugar and stay in shape.

As for alcohol, you should only drink in moderation, enough to stimulate appetite and enjoy the Tet atmosphere.

Tea is also a popular drink during Tet. However, if drinking tea affects sleep, it should not be drunk in the evening but in the morning.

Food safety issues

Choose and use fresh, clean, safe food with clear origin. Store just enough food for use, do not store too much because it can cause food to spoil, change and become unsafe to use. Store fresh and cooked food separately to avoid cross-contamination.

Physical activity

During Tet holidays, people often spend a lot of time cooking, cleaning, and visiting relatives, so they have almost no time left for exercise .

However, full-body exercise will help burn excess calories and leave you feeling refreshed. Just 15-30 minutes of walking or jogging every day during the holidays.

Note: People with chronic diseases related to nutrition such as diabetes, high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, gout... need to follow the nutritional regimen as advised by their doctor. Need to use medication regularly as prescribed by the doctor.
