In the first 6 months of the year, Da Nang City grew by 9.4%

After merging Quang Nam, in the first 6 months of the year, the GRDP of Da Nang city is estimated to increase by 9.4%, with budget revenue of more than 28,969 billion VND.

On the morning of July 4, Chairman of Da Nang City, Mr. Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, had a working session with the Department of Finance on implementing work for the last 6 months of 2025.

Reporting at the meeting, Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Tam - Director of the Department of Finance of Da Nang City said that the Department has updated the socio-economic development situation for the new Da Nang city, when merging with Quang Nam .

Statistics show that in the first 6 months of the year, Da Nang City's economic growth was positive, aiming for double-digit growth in 2025.

The GRDP at comparable prices in the old Da Nang city increased by 11.03%, while Quang Nam province increased by 7.42%. In the first 6 months of the year, the GRDP of the new Da Nang city is estimated to have increased by 9.4%.

Regarding public investment disbursement, it is estimated that by June 30, 2025, the disbursement of the capital plan according to the assigned budget for 2025 will reach VND 5,471 billion, equal to 30.5% of the capital plan assigned by the Prime Minister.

The city has inaugurated and started construction of many projects such as Quang Da Bridge and its approach road, Software Park No. 2 (phase 1), and Quang Nam Provincial Data Integration Center.

In addition, there are also projects to upgrade and renovate March 29 Park; renovate the drainage system and underground information cables and lighting on 4 inner-city roads; and a project to prevent erosion and sustainably protect the coast of Hoi An, Quang Nam province (AFD).

Da Nang City has impressive GRDP growth in the first half of 2025.

Da Nang City also accepted and handed over a number of major projects such as emergency restoration of landslides on the banks of the Quang Hue River; emergency prevention of erosion on the Cua Dai beach; construction of essential technical infrastructure for Sub-zone I, Nam Giang border gate economic zone, etc.

Investment attraction in Da Nang city has also achieved many positive results. In the first 6 months of the year, the city has granted 47 new FDI projects, attracting a total capital of 122.11 million USD. In addition, it has granted 42 new domestic projects with registered capital of 17,952 billion VND.

In the first half of 2025, Da Nang also granted new business registration certificates to 3,102 enterprises, branches and representative offices, with a total registered charter capital of VND 12,599 billion; an increase of 14% in the number of enterprises and an increase of 31.02% in capital compared to the same period in 2024.

Regarding budget revenue, Da Nang city collected more than VND28,969 billion in the first 6 months of the year, reaching 57.2% of the estimate assigned by the Provincial People's Council and equal to 116.2% over the same period. Of which, estimated domestic revenue is VND25,597 billion; revenue from import and export activities is estimated at VND3,354 billion...

Double-digit growth efforts

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of Da Nang City, Mr. Luong Nguyen Minh Triet highly appreciated the results that the City's Department of Finance has achieved in the first 6 months of the year.

According to the Chairman of Da Nang City, the restructuring of the apparatus after the merger of Da Nang and Quang Nam is a very important task. Therefore, the Department of Finance must soon stabilize the apparatus; arrange suitable positions and facilities, in the spirit of solidarity and democracy.

Emphasizing the double-digit growth target in 2025, Mr. Luong Nguyen Minh Triet requested to focus on public investment disbursement and progress of key projects and works.

“Public investment disbursement must clearly identify specific problems, assign progress to each project, each construction management board, and attach responsibility. At the same time, continue to review the list of slow-progressing projects, including public investment and non-budgetary investment, especially projects in the old Quang Nam. At the same time, it is necessary to urge the progress of key and dynamic projects and works. These include projects in the Free Trade Zone, Lien Chieu seaport, and Asia Park. In addition, there is the Cua Lo channel project; Chu Lai Airport project, National Highways 14D and 14B and dredging of the Truong Giang and Co Co rivers,” Mr. Triet requested.

The Chairman of Da Nang City also requested the Department of Finance to have solutions to remove difficulties for each specific project, conduct practical inspections to apply the mechanisms to remove difficulties that the Central Government has issued such as Conclusion No. 77-KL/TW of the Politburo or Resolution No. 170/2024/QH15 of the National Assembly...

In addition, the Department of Finance of Da Nang needs to urgently advise on adjusting the planning of Da Nang city to suit the new space; at the same time, it must clearly guide the use of the old planning so that localities have a basis for implementation in the current period.

The Chairman of Da Nang also noted that after the merger, there will be a lot of surplus public assets and offices, so the Da Nang Department of Finance must strengthen management and have appropriate solutions. At the same time, it is necessary to further promote administrative reform, creating maximum conditions for people and businesses...
