The tournament, part of the Legends Tour competition system operated by the European Tour Group, is one of 21 tournaments held globally in 2025. The selection of Ho Chi Minh City as the host shows the city's increasing position in the strategy of international sports integration and investment attraction.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Nam Nhan, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, Head of the Organizing Committee of the tournament emphasized: “Vietnam Legends Championship 2025 is not only a sports tournament, but also a bridge for cultural, economic and human exchange between Vietnam and international friends. We hope that through this event, Ho Chi Minh City will affirm its role as a center for organizing regional and world-class sporting events, while opening up many investment cooperation opportunities for the business community.”
At the press conference, representatives of Legends Tour and The Golf House signed an official strategic cooperation agreement to organize the Vietnam Legends Championship for three consecutive years from 2025 to 2027 in Ho Chi Minh City. At the same time, the two sides also signed a memorandum of understanding to develop a Golf Academy in Vietnam to train a generation of young athletes, promoting the sustainable development of golf in Southeast Asia.
Mr. Ryan Howsam, President of Legends Tour, highly appreciated the dynamism, friendliness and strong development potential of Ho Chi Minh City. He shared: “We are honored that Vietnam Legends Tour 2025 is held in Ho Chi Minh City - a dynamic, friendly and potential city. The tournament not only brings top experiences to golf lovers but also is an opportunity for world legends to connect with the Vietnamese business community and fans. The tournament will bring together more than 60 world golf legends from the Legends Tour, hundreds of domestic and foreign business golfers, and more than 3,000 golfers participating in the entire series of activities including: “Road to Legends” Qualifying Round (June, August, September, October 2025); “Future Legends” activities to inspire the younger generation; Vietnam Legends Championship Final Round (November 25 - 30, 2025).
The organizers said that in addition to the top sports factor, the event also aims at many important goals such as: Promoting the image of Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam to the world; Strengthening cultural, tourism, investment and trade exchanges; Connecting Vietnamese enterprises with international partners through roundtable conferences and business exchanges; Promoting investment cooperation in 8 key industries: renewable energy, halal food and agriculture, infrastructure - real estate, tourism - hotels, logistics - seaports, technology - innovation, healthcare - pharmaceuticals and fast-moving consumer goods.
