The People's Committee of Dak Nong province has just approved the feasibility study report for the project to renovate and upgrade Provincial Road 1. This is a vital transportation route connecting Dak R'lấp district and the border district of Tuy Duc.
According to a decision signed by the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak Nong province, Le Trong Yen, the project will be implemented from 2025 to 2028 with a design of level III for mountainous areas.
The section of road, over 25.6km long, will be upgraded with a 9m wide roadbed, including a 6m wide road surface and 1.5m wide shoulders on each side.

The project has a total investment of 600 billion VND from the central government budget. Of this, the total construction cost is over 400 billion VND.
The remaining portion is allocated to tasks such as land clearance, management, and handling of issues related to resource exploitation in the project area . The project investor is the Dak Nong Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board.
The People's Committee of Dak Nong province has assigned the People's Committees of Dak R'lấp and Tuy Duc districts to coordinate in land clearance work, with an area of over 23 hectares needing to be reclaimed.
At the same time, the expanded scope of the route will be updated in the local planning to ensure consistency and alignment with the province's development plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.
Provincial Road 1 currently plays a crucial role in connecting the Ho Chi Minh Highway to the Bu P'răng border gate, adjacent to Mondulkiri province (Cambodia).
However, this road has seriously deteriorated, with many sections experiencing landslides and severely damaged road surfaces, making it unsafe for traffic.
The upgrading and renovation of Provincial Road 1 aims to gradually complete Dak Nong's transportation network, meeting the travel needs of the people. The project is expected to create momentum to promote socio -economic development and strengthen national defense and security in the border region.

Investing in Provincial Road 1 is part of a strategy to improve the transportation system in Dak Nong. In recent years, many other roads such as Provincial Roads 2, 3, and 5 have also been upgraded with a total investment of approximately 800 billion VND from the central government budget. These projects are expected to be completed in 2025.
The upgrade project for Provincial Road 1 marks a significant step forward in infrastructure development, affirming the efforts of the Dak Nong provincial government in modernizing transportation.
Provincial road renovation and upgrading projects have been contributing to improving people's lives, promoting trade and commerce, and attracting investment to the locality.
