8 teams compete in the ASEAN Police Football Tournament 2025

(Dan Tri) - On July 2, the Ministry of Public Security held a press conference to inform about the 2025 ASEAN Police Football Tournament, taking place from July 5 to July 15 with the participation of 8 football teams.

The 2025 ASEAN Police Football Tournament is organized by the Ministry of Public Security with the participation of 8 teams, including 5 teams from the ASEAN region (Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Singapore, Timor Leste), a guest team from Australia and two host teams (Vietnam People's Police I and Vietnam People's Police II). T&T Group and SHB Bank are the main sponsors of the tournament.

Speaking at the press conference, Director of the Department of Political Work (Ministry of Public Security) - Colonel Pham Kim Dinh said that the tournament is an international sports friendly activity with important political and diplomatic significance, celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam People's Public Security, aiming to promote the sports training movement, improve the health and team spirit of officers and soldiers; enhance the position and image of the Vietnam People's Public Security force as a regular, elite and modern force.

"The tournament aims to strengthen cooperation, solidarity, friendship and mutual understanding between the police forces of ASEAN countries and some partner countries, actively contributing to the struggle for peace and stability in the region. At the same time, it promotes tourism, rich culture, and the image of a peaceful, friendly and hospitable Vietnam to international friends," Colonel Pham Kim Dinh emphasized.

According to the results of the draw, Group A with 4 teams including: Vietnam People's Public Security I, Laos, Thailand and Cambodia will compete at Hang Day Stadium (Hanoi); 4 teams in Group B including Vietnam People's Public Security II, Australia, Singapore and Timor Leste will compete at PVF Stadium (Hung Yen).

The opening ceremony of the tournament will be held at 6:30 p.m. on July 9 at Hang Day Stadium, Hanoi. The group stage matches will take place from July 7 to July 11 at two locations in Hanoi and Hung Yen. The semi-finals (July 13) and the final (July 15) will take place at Hang Day Stadium.

The prize structure includes: 30,000 USD for the champion team, 15,000 USD for the runner-up team and 10,000 USD for each third-place team, along with individual and style awards.

At the press conference, Mr. Do Quang Vinh - Vice Chairman of T&T Group thanked the Ministry of Public Security for choosing T&T as the companion unit to organize the 2025 ASEAN Police Football Tournament.
