In the early morning mist of September 2, Ba Dinh Square was ablaze with flags and flowers. A large number of cadres, soldiers, organizations, youths and children were in position, standing in a group waiting for the opening ceremony of the rally, parade and march to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Of the 18 blocks of the People's Public Security Force, 5 blocks stood in formation. From the city named after Uncle Ho, the young soldier Dao Cong Thanh, unit E25, shared the honor, pride and responsibility that helped him and his teammates and comrades have a beautiful, even, strong and majestic formation.

For many days, Thanh and his teammates have been practicing in fluctuating weather conditions, sometimes with intense heat, sometimes with sudden showers and tropical depressions.

“However, will and responsibility help each individual overcome everything, to form a sense of rhythm - the factor that helps the whole formation move in unity, synchronization and spirit,” soldier Dao Cong Thanh confided.

With tanned skin, serious face, and straight eyes, Captain Mai Huu Phuc could not hide his emotion.

He came to Hanoi from his hometown of Tra Vinh in May and together with his comrades and officers of the People's Public Security force "braved the sun and rain" for many months to prepare for today.

He said that "making my small contribution to the success of the 80th National Day Celebration" was an honor and pride.

For Captain Mai Huu Phuc, being able to join soldiers from all over the country to carry out the A80 mission and walk on the historic Ba Dinh Square is "the greatest motivation and the way for the young generation to continue the revolutionary tradition."

The Southern female guerrillas also made a strong impression. The Ao Ba Ba and scarves on the shoulders of the volunteer students recreated the resilient image of Vietnamese women during the resistance war.

Young face Dang Ho Thien Phuc (Nha Be commune, Ho Chi Minh City) has participated in the parade three times.

“I have participated in the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, and the reunification of the country. The responsibility of a militia soldier and patriotism have urged me to go this time. If there is another time, I will also participate,” Thien Phuc shared.

Also in the Southern female guerilla group, Dang Quynh Tram (student of Ho Chi Minh City University of Law) said she was extremely proud to be in the team, wearing a checkered scarf and ao ba ba.

“I hope the younger generation will remember the countless contributions and sacrifices of the “brave Ba sisters” who contributed to protecting peace for the Fatherland,” Quynh Tram confided.

The pride of the female volunteer students, the emotion of the People's Public Security soldiers, and the spirit of tens of thousands of officers and soldiers participating in this important event.

As Lieutenant Colonel Do Trong Khanh, Regiment 917 (Division 370, Air Defense - Air Force) - a member of one of the flight crews carrying the national flag shared, he is willing to do his best to contribute to the Fatherland, so each mission becomes an honor.

“We wish to contribute so that the people of the capital as well as people across the country and international friends can see the most beautiful flights, carrying our feelings for the Fatherland,” said Lieutenant Colonel Do Trong Khanh.

Notably, this morning, pilots flying SU-30MK2 fighter jets performed a formation flight in the sky over Hanoi.

According to Captain Do Thanh Tung, Squadron Leader of Squadron 1, Squadron 1, Regiment 910, this is a very difficult course, requiring persistent training, good coordination and solid control skills of the pilots.

“But flying over Ba Dinh Square - where Uncle Ho read the Declaration of Independence - is an incomparable honor. This is not only a responsibility but also a tribute to history and an affirmation of the growth and maturity of the Air Force,” Captain Do Thanh Tung confided.

At 5:30 a.m., Ba Dinh Square is ablaze with flags and flowers and joyful anticipation. In just a few minutes, the commands will resound, and the teams will march in formation across the stage. Along Trang Tien, Trang Thi, Tran Phu, Cua Nam streets, people are standing on the sidewalks, holding national flags, their eyes on the large LED screens at public places, waiting for the important event.

The anticipation will reach its climax when “red blood, yellow skin, I am Vietnamese,” the sea of people put their hands on their chests to sing the National Anthem, then follow the footsteps of the Vietnamese People’s Armed Forces and the armies of international friends. The festive atmosphere combined with military discipline makes the streets both excited and solemn, in the spirit of the 80th anniversary of National Day.

In that joy, the faces of veterans are quietly watching the youth, watching the great event of the nation, settling the memories of the blood that was shed. All of this creates a deep and lingering feeling. Because after so many years, there is a day of peace. After the joyful day of victory, millions of names will forever remain to “bring youth to sow freedom for the country.”

The sky in Hanoi is a clear blue. Ba Dinh Square this morning is bright with faith and pride. The Declaration of Independence seems to echo somewhere: “Vietnam has the right to enjoy freedom and independence, and in fact has become a free and independent country. The entire Vietnamese people are determined to devote all their spirit and strength, their lives and property to maintain that freedom and independence”./.
