• Scientific seminar on the Battle of Giồng Bốm: “From a historical perspective to its lasting value”

Attending the ceremony were Comrade Vo Van Dung, former Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, former Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Internal Affairs Commission, and former Secretary of the Bac Lieu Provincial Party Committee; and Comrade Cao Xuan Thu Van, President of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance .

The leaders of Ca Mau province attending included: Nguyen Ho Hai, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Pham Van Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; and Ho Thanh Thuy, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ca Mau province.

Also attending were members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, leaders of the Provincial People's Council, Provincial People's Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ca Mau province, as well as former provincial leaders from various periods; and dignitaries and officials from religious organizations in Ca Mau, Vinh Long, Dong Thap, and Can Tho.

Leaders, former leaders of the Central and provincial governments, and the people attended the commemoration ceremony.

At the ceremony, delegates recalled the historical traditions of the Battle of Giong Bom, which took place 80 years ago.

Following the August Revolution of 1945, in response to the call for resistance in Southern Vietnam, the Cao Dai Minh Chon Dao religious sect, led by Mr. Cao Trieu Phat, organized forces in Giong Bom, launching the spirit of "saving the country is saving the religion," and mobilizing numerous religious leaders, officials, followers, and the people to participate in the resistance.

After more than 5 months of preparation, the Giồng Bốm base gathered over 2,000 people to participate in combat and support combat operations.
