Agribank honored at the "Glory of Vietnam" Program 2025

(Dan Tri) - On the evening of June 22, at the "Glory of Vietnam" Program in 2025, Agribank was named, making its mark with great, persistent and responsible contributions to the development of the country, especially in the field of "Agriculture, Rural Development".

The program "Glory of Vietnam" is an annual event of profound political and social significance, aiming to honor heroic collectives and individuals, national emulation fighters, and advanced models with outstanding achievements in the patriotic emulation movement, contributing to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

In 2025, the "Glory of Vietnam" program with the theme "Pride and Aspiration" will continue to spread that sacred value by honoring collectives and individuals with a long history of achievements and great achievements in many fields.

At the program, the Organizing Committee announced and honored 19 heroic and typical examples (13 groups, 6 individuals) with outstanding achievements and outstanding contributions to the cause of national construction and development. Agribank is the only bank representative honored in the program.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, gave a speech at the program.

Agribank has deployed over 64,000 loan groups, a mobile transaction point model using specialized cars with nearly 4,000 transaction sessions serving tens of thousands of customers, especially in rural, mountainous, remote and isolated areas.

Agribank brings “green finance” into agricultural development, supports circular production models, reduces emissions, aims for sustainable development and realizes Vietnam's commitment to net zero emissions by 2050.

Pioneering in implementing macroeconomic policies and social security

Agribank is the key bank implementing the policies of the Party and State, contributing significantly to stabilizing the macro economy, controlling inflation, promoting growth, ensuring social security and developing agriculture.

Agribank has been effectively implementing 7 policy credit policies, 3 national target programs on new rural construction, sustainable poverty reduction and socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas. With a market share of agricultural and rural credit accounting for 1/3 of the entire industry, Agribank plays a vital role in providing capital for agricultural production, thereby ensuring food security, contributing significantly to macroeconomic stability, ensuring social security and sustainable development.

Outstanding contribution to the State budget and community responsibility

Agribank is one of the enterprises with the largest budget contribution to the country with more than 43,000 billion VND paid to the budget in the period of 2021-2024 (in 2024 alone, it will reach more than 15,000 billion VND), for many consecutive years in the top 10 largest tax-paying enterprises in Vietnam, affirming its pivotal role in the Vietnamese financial and banking system.

In addition to business activities, Agribank always promotes the spirit of "Banking for the community". Every year, the bank spends 500 - 600 billion VND on social security activities. In 2024 alone, this figure will reach nearly 700 billion VND with a series of housing projects, schools, medical stations, disaster relief, environmental protection... being widely deployed across the country, contributing to improving living conditions for tens of thousands of people.

Agribank's selection for honor at the "Glory of Vietnam" program in 2025 is a testament to its 37-year journey of steadfastness, dedication and effectiveness in fulfilling its mission of serving the development of agriculture, farmers and rural areas - the core foundation of Vietnam's economy.

With outstanding achievements in the 37-year journey of construction and development, Agribank has been honored by the Party, the State, domestic and international organizations with the title of Hero of Labor in the renovation period (2003); Second-class Independence Medal (2008), First-class Labor Medal (2018, 2023), national brand, Top 10 largest banks in Vietnam, Top 50 largest enterprises in Southeast Asia, continues to be rated Ba2 by Moody's, stable outlook and BB+ by Fitch Ratings, stable outlook equivalent to the national credit rating and is the highest rating for Vietnamese banks...
