Agribank expands 20,000 billion VND credit package for agriculture, forestry and fishery

From July 2023, Agribank is the first bank to implement a preferential credit program for the forestry and fishery sector with an initial registered scale of VND 3,000 billion, with a preferential interest rate at least 1.0% -2.0% lower per year than the average lending interest rate for the same term.

Realizing the large capital demand from the market and positive signals from the program, in 2024, Agribank registered twice with the State Bank, increasing the scale of participation in the program to VND 13,000 billion.

After more than 18 months of implementation, the total capital disbursed by Agribank reached nearly 10,000 billion VND, supporting more than 6,500 customers nationwide. Of which, the Southwest region alone - the key area for aquaculture, processing and exporting seafood - accounted for more than 50% of the total capital disbursed by the program.

This shows that the demand for credit capital for the forestry and fishery sector is very large and Agribank's efforts are timely directing capital flows to the right locations, right subjects and right customer needs.

After 18 months of implementation, the total capital disbursed by Agribank reached nearly 10,000 billion VND, supporting more than 6,500 customers.

In 2025, implementing the direction of the Government, the Prime Minister and the State Bank on expanding and adjusting the scale of the Credit Program for the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector to a maximum of VND 100,000 billion, Agribank continues to register to increase the scale of participation in the program to VND 20,000 billion, supporting investment capital for the development of the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector.

Along with that, Agribank is also implementing many preferential credit programs for many fields, industries and customers of small and medium enterprises, import-export enterprises, individual customers... with a total scale of more than 310,000 billion VND. Individual customers, enterprises engaged in farming, processing, exporting and production and business activities in the fields of agriculture, forestry and fishery can also participate in preferential loans under these programs.

Not only expanding the scale of preferential credit capital, Agribank also focuses on improving access to credit for people and businesses. In the coming time, Agribank will continue to simplify loan procedures through digital transformation and application of technology in credit work, helping customers in the fields of agriculture, forestry and fishery to access capital conveniently and quickly.
