On February 27, 2024, the Government's inter-sectoral working delegation led by Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Hong had a working session with Ben Tre province on the situation of production and business, disbursement of public investment capital, import and export; and national target programs.

At the meeting, Permanent Vice Chairman of Ben Tre Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Truc Son reported on the province's outstanding results in 2023 regarding key projects, capital allocation plan for 2024, export turnover, new rural construction, banking activities in the province, and implementation of national target programs.
Accordingly, regarding the situation and solutions to promote production and business, public investment, infrastructure construction, import and export in Ben Tre province, in 2023, 13/21 targets met and exceeded the targets of the Resolution of the 11th Provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term (NQ). In addition, with many efforts, the province's economy has developed, the economic growth rate in 2023 reached 5.16%; Industrial and handicraft production value increased by 7.38% over the same period; Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue increased by 13.73%; Export turnover increased by 3.99%; Tourism recovered well, the number of visitors increased by 71.9%; Banking activities developed safely, outstanding credit increased by 12% compared to the beginning of the year; The exemption and reduction of tax, fee and charge payments to support the recovery of enterprises and business households were well implemented; Public investment disbursement reached 89.56% of the plan; Export turnover and major export products increased compared to the previous year, reaching 90% of the plan; local budget revenue reached and exceeded the central budget estimate (103.63%)...
Discussing at the working session on the orientations for socio-economic development of the province in the coming time, Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Hong suggested that Ben Tre province continue to implement solutions to increase added value, build brands for the value chain of the province's strong products, focus on promoting trade of local products in domestic and foreign markets... She suggested that the banking sector of Ben Tre province pay attention to and advise businesses in financial and banking activities, stabilize production and business activities, increase access to bank capital...

At the same day's working session of General Director Pham Toan Vuong with Agribank Ben Tre province branch, according to the report, the provincial network includes 10 branches in Ben Tre city and districts, 18 inter-commune transaction offices; accounting for over 30% of the market share of capital mobilization and credit investment and is the unit playing a key role in investment in lending for rural agricultural development. Outstanding loans for rural agriculture according to Decree 55 of the Government of Agribank Ben Tre are 19,876 billion VND, accounting for 94% of the branch's total outstanding loans, accounting for 10% of Agribank's outstanding loans for rural agriculture in the Southwest region.
