Presenting the donation of VND2 billion, Ms. Bui Thi Thu Thuy, Head of Government Relations and Director of Manulife Vietnam branch in Hanoi, expressed her wish to distribute this donation to the three provinces of Thai Nguyen, Hai Phong and Yen Bai.
“These are provinces and cities that are still heavily affected by storms and floods. With our small “strength”, Manulife hopes to, through the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, give this amount of money to the above 3 localities to quickly overcome the consequences of storm No. 3,” Ms. Thuy shared.
Mr. Tran Ngoc Sang, Deputy Director of Bach Dang Green Plastic Joint Stock Company, said that the 100 million VND donation this time came from the company's staff with the desire to join hands with the people to overcome the consequences of the heavy damage caused by storms and floods.
“These contributions may not be much, but they are the sentiments of all the staff in the company. Hopefully, this amount of money will help alleviate some of the losses that people are suffering due to the severe consequences of storm No. 3. We also fully believe that after receiving this donation, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front will allocate it appropriately, to the right place, to the right people," said Mr. Sang.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Cong, representative of the Vietnamese Women's Union in the Federal Republic of Germany, could not hide her emotions when handing over the donation. Ms. Cong shared that although living and working abroad, the Vietnamese community in Germany always turns their hearts towards their homeland and country, always closely following information about their compatriots after storm No. 3.
“The losses suffered by our compatriots after storm No. 3 are so great that even though we are abroad, we cannot help but grieve. Responding to the call of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, we have mobilized and called for support for our compatriots in Vietnam who are suffering heavily after the storm and floods. This amount of money is not much, but it is the heart of those who are far away from home, the sentiment towards the Fatherland. We hope that this support will help our compatriots soon stabilize their lives, restore production and develop,” said Ms. Cong.
Expressing gratitude to the kindness of agencies, units, organizations and individuals, Vice President To Thi Bich Chau affirmed that these are noble gestures, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity, together giving deep concern and sincere feelings towards the people in the flood-hit areas. Many agencies and organizations did not hesitate to travel far to directly support the headquarters of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, bringing with them feelings and wishes to contribute resources to help people in the northern provinces overcome difficulties soon.
Receiving the kindness of the overseas Vietnamese community, Vice President To Thi Bich Chau shared that overseas Vietnamese always give warm, sincere feelings and practical material support to help people in flood-hit areas quickly overcome damage and stabilize their lives. The donations of overseas Vietnamese in general in recent times have created a strong influence among the people, even though they are working, studying or doing business abroad, they always turn their hearts towards their homeland, sharing the difficulties and losses of their compatriots.
According to Vice President To Thi Bich Chau, as of 5:00 p.m. on September 17, 2024, the Central Relief Mobilization Committee's account had received a total amount of VND 1,344 billion (One thousand three hundred and forty-four billion VND). Of which, the Central Relief Mobilization Committee supported localities in both phases with a total amount of VND 1,035 billion, with the spirit of timely and reasonable allocation according to the specific level of damage of each province, in order to provide the most practical support to localities.
Vice President To Thi Bich Chau pledged that the Central Relief Mobilization Committee will use the donated money for the right purposes, requirements and publicly in accordance with the law; allocate it promptly, transparently, to the right people, the right addresses in the localities affected by storms and floods, and at the same time supervise the use of donated resources for the right purposes and effectively.
On the same afternoon, Vice President To Thi Bich Chau received support from Hong Duc Petroleum Company Limited in the amount of 1 billion VND; Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha Thanh (Coconut Island Villa Area 3-11 Vinhomes Oceanpark 2, Van Giang, Hung Yen) donated 300 million VND; Sbtech Joint Stock Company donated 50 million VND; SK Group donated 300,000 USD.
On the same day, Mr. Vu Van Tien, Head of the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, received support for people affected by storm No. 3 from the Vietnam-Japan International Exchange Organization - Favija in the amount of 200 million VND; TSQ Vietnam Company and its staff donated 282 million VND; and Viettel Equipment Manufacturing Corporation's staff donated 270 million VND. Mr. Cao Xuan Thao, Head of the Movement Department of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, received support from the Suri Family and Children's Photo Studio Collective in the amount of 91.05 million VND.
