On September 28, Chau Thanh District Police, Tra Vinh Province, are temporarily detaining Thach Thi Soc So Khone (38 years old, residing in Thanh Hoa Son Commune, Cau Ngang District) to investigate the act of Illegally Detaining a Person Under 16 Years Old.

According to initial information, on the morning of September 27, at the Obstetrics Department, Tra Vinh Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital (located in Chau Thanh district), when he saw the husband of a pregnant woman helping his wife out, leaving the newborn baby boy alone, So Khone kidnapped the child.
The subject prepared tools to hide the baby and take it out of the hospital. The victim was only 1 day old.
Returning to bed but not seeing the child, the boy's family shouted and together with many people searched for and caught So Khone. Luckily, the child's health is still stable at this time.
Thach Thi Soc So Khone was later handed over to the police by the people.
At the investigation agency, the subject stated that she was unable to have children. So Khone planned to kidnap the baby and raise it, fabricating the story of having just given birth to her boyfriend.
Thach Thi Soc So Khone plotted to use the baby as a condition to force her boyfriend to marry her.
The case is being further investigated and clarified by Chau Thanh District Police.
