AMD and Nvidia aim to create the world's most powerful PCs.

According to GearRice , artificial intelligence (AI) requires massive computing power, training a large language model involving processing billions of parameters. To put it into perspective, we're talking about thousands of GPUs working non-stop for weeks. However, there are smaller models that don't require as many resources. To create a solution for these smaller machines, Nvidia and AMD have collaborated to create an optimized workstation.

The collaboration between Nvidia and AMD helps create powerful PCs for consumers.

These new systems will be based on RTX Ada Generation GPUs and Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7000 WX-Series CPUs. They seek to help download the necessary resources for AI development tasks. Depending on needs, a system is offered that allows for the configuration of one or more GPUs. Users can choose RTX graphics cards with high-bandwidth VRAM up to 48 GB for these workstations. This allows users to reduce data processing times while reducing reliance on large data centers for simpler models.

For these workstations, the AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7000 WX-Series processors were chosen, which are ideal for these tasks as they have up to 96 cores and high memory bandwidth. Nvidia emphasizes that these processors are currently industry leaders.

The combination of AMD processors with RTX Ada Generation enables the creation of high-performance systems. These provide users with double the performance in Ray Tracing, high processing power for AI, graphics rendering, and other demanding computing tasks.

These new systems are based on AMD Threadripper processors with Ada Lovelace GPUs, including the RTX 4000 SFF, RTX 4000, RTX 4500, RTX 5000, and RTX 6000. These GPUs feature up to 142 third-generation Ray Tracing cores, 568 fourth-generation Tensor cores, and 18,176 CUDA cores.

Nvidia says these advanced AI-focused workstations will be available next month and will be marketed by BOXX and HPE. The company also emphasized that other integrators will begin marketing them a little later. The company hasn't released pricing data yet, but it wouldn't be surprising if the price falls in the thousands of euros, given that the RTX 4000 SFF alone costs €1,775.
