
Attending the meeting were the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province, Tran Thi Thanh Huong; representatives from various departments and agencies; and a large number of Cham people living in the province.

Speaking at the gathering, Vice Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee Le Van Phuoc emphasized: Roya Haji Tet is one of the important holidays of the Cham people who follow Islam, carrying profound meaning about faith, compassion, sharing, and a spirit of doing good.
This is an occasion for each family to gather and pray for peace; it is a time for the community to cultivate love and support for one another in life.

According to Mr. Le Van Phuoc, the Muslim community in An Giang province currently has over 21,000 followers, practicing their religion at 12 mosques, 16 smaller mosques, and 1 centralized religious gathering point.
Over the past period, the Cham people in the province have made efforts to develop their economy and gradually stabilize their lives. As a result, the number of poor households among the Cham people in the province has decreased to 102. The people have also actively participated in patriotic emulation movements and local campaigns; contributing to social welfare activities, promoting education and talent development, building solidarity houses and charity houses, and supporting people facing difficulties, natural disasters, and floods.

Commending the positive contributions of the Cham and Muslim communities to the province's development, Mr. Le Van Phuoc affirmed that the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee always pay attention to directing the implementation of ethnic and religious policies; creating conditions for the Cham people to practice their religion in accordance with the law, preserve their traditional cultural identity, develop the economy, and improve their living standards.
Many essential infrastructure projects in areas with a large Cham population have received investment; electricity, roads, clean water, schools, and community facilities have been gradually improved; and education , healthcare, social welfare, vocational training, and job creation continue to be prioritized.

Mr. Le Van Phuoc emphasized that in the coming time, the province will continue to fully, promptly, and effectively implement policies; listen to and understand the thoughts and aspirations of the people, and promptly resolve legitimate and lawful requests.
He expressed his wish that the Cham people in the province would continue to uphold the traditions of unity, patriotism, diligence, and creativity in labor and production; strive to improve their living standards; pay attention to their children's education; preserve their language, writing system, costumes, customs, and fine traditional crafts; and actively contribute to the overall development of An Giang province in the new era.

Sharing in the joy of celebrating Roya Haji Tet, Mr. Ana, a respected figure among the Cham people in Khanh Binh commune, expressed his delight at the attention the Party and State have given to the Cham community in recent times.
According to Mr. ANa, many supportive policies from the Party, the State, and local authorities have helped to improve the appearance of the Cham ethnic minority areas, and the material and spiritual lives of the people have improved significantly.
Ana believes that the achievements serve as motivation for the Cham people to continue striving in labor and production, preserving their ethnic cultural identity, promoting the tradition of unity, and contributing to building a more developed, civilized, and prosperous An Giang province.

Mr. Mach Sales, Deputy Head of the Muslim Community Representative Board of An Giang province, affirmed that in the coming time, the Cham people of An Giang province will stand alongside and work together with the local government in socio-economic development and maintain national unity.
Mr. Mach Sales also hopes to receive more attention so that religious activities can continue to take place smoothly, in accordance with the law, and ensuring the freedom of belief and religion of the people.
This year's Roya Haji festival of the Cham people took place on May 27th, 28th, and 29th, 2026. On this occasion, An Giang province organized numerous delegations to visit and extend New Year greetings to the Provincial Muslim Community Representative Board, mosques, smaller mosques, religious gathering points, religious dignitaries, influential figures, and policy beneficiary families, as well as exemplary Cham households in the communes of Chau Phong, Vinh Hau, Vinh Hanh, My Duc, Nhon Hoi, Khanh Binh, Tay Yen, and Long Xuyen ward.
