Similarly, An Giang plans to spend 80 billion VND per year, for 2 years from the budget to support officials, civil servants and public employees from the old An Giang to work in the new province. According to statistics, more than 2,200 officials, civil servants and public employees of this province have registered their housing needs, and 1,600 people have registered their transportation needs.
In addition to the above policy, An Giang People's Council has approved a special support regime for cadres working in Tho Chau special zone, including cadres working in hamlets and security and order protection teams.
The support level includes: 25% of current salary for cadres and civil servants holding leadership and management positions; 30% of current salary for cadres not in the above category and civil servants and civil servants working in the special zone; 70% of current monthly allowance for part-time workers in hamlets, people directly participating in hamlet activities and 80% of current monthly allowance for part-time workers at the commune level, hamlet team leaders and members of security and order protection teams.
Currently, there are about 90 staff working in Tho Chau special zone, with support budget of about 4 billion VND per year. The policy for this special zone comes from the reality of difficult life, with living expenses 2 to 3 times higher than on the mainland.
Tho Chau Special Zone is located in the Southwest of the country, with an area of 13 km2, a population of more than 1,800 people, including 8 islands, about 220 km from Rach Gia.
