Bring a calm, relaxed mindset to the competition
These twin brothers shared with Tuoi Tre Online about their journey to reap gold.
* How was the journey to the competition for the two brothers?
- Tri Hien: Coming to the contest, both of us brought a calm and relaxed mentality. Before the exam, we reviewed the knowledge we had learned. During the exam, we did our best with the questions we were sure of, and were able to complete our exam well.
- Tri Hau: I prepare myself mentally, review what I have, and stay calm.
* How is the International Math Olympiad exam? Is it too difficult?
- Tri Hien: The exam is not too difficult compared to the national team exam in Vietnam. The exam has 5 parts in the fields of combination, arithmetic, geometry, and algebra. There are 2 combination questions, the first and last questions, the second question is geometry, the third question is algebra, and the fourth question is arithmetic.
I solved the first 4 questions completely. As for question 5, I didn't have much time left. I did 4 questions with a score of 40/50.
* How did Hien and Hau feel when they won the gold medal?
- Tri Hien: I feel happy and proud, the results of my long-term learning process are well rewarded, we will try harder to conquer international competitions in the future.
We would like to thank our mother for always following our steps and efforts, our teachers for their support over the past time, and our friends for always accompanying us.
* Do you have any message for your fellow students?
- Tri Hien: When you enter the exam, try your best, don't put too much pressure on yourself during important exams.
- Tri Hau: I thank my friends and teachers who have always accompanied us on our journey to the exam.
I am really happy and proud of my students, of the students of Quang Nam. On Tet holiday, I visited their houses, I admired and respected them, and believed that they would continue to conquer the pinnacle of knowledge, and today they did this.
I commend the two students for their passion, effort, and tireless efforts in unfavorable family conditions to win the gold medal.
You two are role models, spreading the flame of love of learning, continuing to explore and liberate the intelligence of Quang Nam people to do things that seem impossible.
We hope that this spirit will create a spreading force, creating motivation to promote the education career of Quang Nam to grow and develop, with many examples like this to be worthy of being the land of learning of Quang Nam.
