On the evening of August 29, the Admissions Council of the University of Finance and Marketing announced the review and adjustment of the regular university admission results in 2025.
Errors in data integration for admission
This announcement states that, in order to implement the policy of publicity, transparency and ensuring the rights of candidates in the admission process, the University of Finance and Marketing announces the results of the review and handling of errors in the processing of admission data according to the admission method based on high school academic results in 2025. The review results show that 33 candidates have gone from failing to passing and 42 candidates have gone from passing to failing.
Specifically, during the implementation of the 2025 regular university entrance exam, after completing the conversion of scores from English certificates to English subject scores in the admission subject group according to the school's regulations, there were errors in integrating data into the admission exam, leading to some cases of candidates having their scores calculated incorrectly, affecting the admission results.
According to the school's announcement, this error did not originate from the General Admission Support System deployed by the Ministry of Education and Training, but was due to data processing within the school's admission process.
Therefore, after reviewing all the admission data, the school compared the wishes of each candidate and implemented specific handling steps: sending a detailed report and a list of candidates with errors to the Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Training) for comments and coordination in handling. The school worked with relevant parties to provide maximum support to specific candidates, ensuring the rights of candidates while complying with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
Sorry 42 candidates from passing to failing
Regarding the candidates, the University of Finance and Marketing said that it has notified 33 candidates about the addition and confirmation of admission according to the new admission wishes to the school for cases of failed candidates who passed.
For the candidates who passed but failed, the school directly contacted and apologized to 42 candidates and announced the adjusted admission results according to the next consecutive admission wishes. At the same time, the school also sent an official dispatch to the candidates' admission wishes to support and create favorable conditions for candidates to enroll according to their new admission wishes.
The school also reports to the Department of Higher Education ( Ministry of Education and Training ) the list of candidates whose admission results have been adjusted to update the General Admission Support System.
Commitment to ensure maximum benefits for candidates
The school's Admissions Council is committed to ensuring the maximum rights of candidates for admission; at the same time, it is public, transparent and closely coordinates with the Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Training) in supervising this process. The school will refund the tuition and fees (if any) paid to the successful candidates.
The school also commits to perfecting its professional processes to improve the quality of admissions, meeting the requirements of accuracy, fairness and objectivity.
"The school hopes to receive sympathy and sharing from parents and candidates affected by this incident, and the timely support and information from news agencies so that candidates and parents can feel secure," the announcement of the Admissions Council of the University of Finance and Marketing stated.
