Antony makes things difficult for MU

Striker Antony expressed his desire to stay at Real Betis, but the La Liga representative could not buy the Brazilian star.

According to ABC , MU and Betis are preparing to negotiate the future of the former Ajax star. Antony's representative is also present at the negotiation to find the next solution. Both Antony and Betis are satisfied with the current situation, and Antony himself also wants to continue to be associated with the La Liga club.

However, the problem is that MU does not want to continue to let Antony leave on loan, when his current contract only lasts until 2027. Meanwhile, Betis only has to pay a part of this striker's salary. MU wants Betis to buy Antony outright, but the La Liga club does not have enough budget to close this deal.

MU expects to earn at least 40 million pounds if they sell Antony, 50% less than the amount the "Red Devils" spent to bring him from Ajax in the summer of 2022. However, Betis cannot afford the above fee.

After a difficult spell in Manchester, Antony is now shining at Betis. Since joining the club in January, he has scored four goals and provided two assists in 11 appearances. Real Betis CEO Ramon Alarcon revealed that Antony has expressed his desire to stay at the club for another year.

Since the beginning of February, Antony has created 17 scoring chances for his teammates in La Liga, more than any other player in the league. Antony and Isco form a formidable attacking duo, helping Betis nurture their ambitions of playing in the Champions League next season.

Currently, coach Manuel Pellegrini's team is ranked 6th in La Liga. If they can qualify for the Champions League next season, Betis will have a significant source of income to keep Antony.
