(VLO) For a long time, many parents have only focused on investing in their children's education and extra classes to pass exams, forgetting to share and support them in overcoming difficulties in studying and career orientation.
The confusion of not being able to confide and seek psychological support, combined with the heavy workload and excessive demands from family and school, has created great psychological pressure on students, especially high school seniors, that is, grade 12.
We need to know that early adolescence is a period of important changes in social status, creating objective challenges for students' lives.
However, due to immature psychological development and shortcomings in education at home, school and in society, some young students have not yet determined the meaning of life, have no career orientation and therefore cannot make a specific life plan for themselves.
Therefore, when faced with problems of studying and choosing a career, students are easily confused and have negative responses.
Grade 12 students often experience the highest level of intellectual and emotional difficulties. “Tiredness”, “pressure” and “disappointment at not achieving goals” are the three common feelings of students.
Cognitively, students have difficulty in absorbing lessons, determining learning motivation and self-assessment. Behavioral difficulties are mainly manifested in the learning style of “waiting until the water reaches the foot to jump”, “doing things alone” and “not following the plan”.
When facing psychological difficulties in learning, 12th grade students often focus on using problem-oriented responses. In addition, they also use emotional-oriented and avoidance-oriented responses.
With a high intensity of study, the amount of work assigned exceeds their ability to perform, students do not have the necessary time to recover their working capacity after a day of study and physical fatigue also greatly affects cognitive, emotional and volitional processes.
Because of the heavy learning pressure of 12th grade students, schools need to organize reasonable teaching activities, suitable to the age characteristics, to avoid creating unnecessary pressure on them.
In my opinion, teachers need to pay attention to the personality traits and academic performance of each student, and recognize the differences in choosing psychological responses of individual students to have appropriate supportive impacts, helping them promptly overcome difficulties in learning.
As for students, they need to be guided and taught how to respond to their choices to see if they will bring benefits or disadvantages to their personal development so they know how to adjust.
In addition, it is very necessary to equip students with skills in planning, setting goals, prioritizing work and practicing discipline while implementing study and training plans...
