The latest news from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that the tropical depression is currently at coordinates of about 14 degrees North latitude, 118 degrees East longitude; strong winds of level 6, gusting to level 8.
It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, the tropical depression will continue to move northwest at a speed of 10km/hour. The intensity of the tropical depression is likely to be stronger, at level 6, gusting to level 9.
To proactively respond to the developments of the tropical depression, this afternoon (July 19), the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development sent a telegram to ministries, branches, and Chairmen of People's Committees of coastal provinces and cities from Quang Ninh to Binh Thuan to direct focused response.
The key tasks in the coming time are to closely monitor the development of the tropical depression; strictly manage means of transport going out to sea; organize counting and notify owners of means of transport, captains of ships and boats operating at sea of the location, direction of movement and development of the tropical depression so that they can proactively avoid, escape or not move into dangerous areas.
In addition, ministries, branches and localities need to prepare forces and means for rescue when required. Organize serious on-duty teams and regularly report to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (through the Department of Dyke Management and Disaster Prevention and Control) to direct timely response to natural disasters.
