Caring for workers with practical actions

The work of caring for, representing, and protecting the rights of workers is constantly being innovated by trade unions at all levels in the province in terms of content and methods of operation, focusing on the grassroots level, taking workers as the center. Thereby, it contributes significantly to improving the material and spiritual life of union members and workers, arousing the spirit of solidarity and attachment between workers and trade unions and enterprises.

Comrade Pham Duc An, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, presented gifts to workers in difficult circumstances on the occasion of Workers' Month 2025.

Ha Tu Ward is the first commune in the province to establish a new model trade union organization (July 10, 2025) consisting of 24 grassroots trade unions belonging to local enterprises with more than 1,500 union members and employees. Immediately after its establishment, the Ward Trade Union Executive Committee held its first conference, announced the decision to establish and deploy the work program for the last 6 months of 2025. The Ward Trade Union focuses on building the organization, understanding the thoughts and lives of union members, and at the same time implementing activities to protect the legitimate rights and interests of employees.

Grandma   Pham Thai Hai,   Chairman of the Ha Tu Ward Trade Union said: Immediately after its establishment, the Ward Trade Union actively guided grassroots trade unions to organize workers' conferences, dialogue with employers; negotiate, build and adjust Collective Labor Agreements; disseminate, provide legal advice and legal aid. Life care programs such as "Union Shelter", "Union Member Welfare", "Tet Sum Vay" ... continue to be promoted, demonstrating the role of "bridge" between workers and trade unions in the new context.

In recent times, trade unions at all levels in the province have implemented many practical activities to care for the lives of workers and laborers, especially in a series of events celebrating the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union on July 28 (1929-2025). A typical example is the program "Trade Union Meal" organized by the Trade Union of Bach Nang Quang Ninh Footwear Company Limited (Mao Khe Ward) on July 25, serving nearly 1,600 workers with meals worth VND 55,000 (the Company's Trade Union supported VND 35,000/meal). The Provincial Labor Federation coordinated with the Department of Health to organize a reproductive health examination and consultation program for 121 female workers of Uong Bi Urban Environment and Construction Joint Stock Company; Through this, 242 ultrasounds were performed, detecting many cases with signs of disease such as uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, etc., of which 35 cases were given prescriptions, 7 cases underwent procedures, and many other cases received timely treatment advice.

Since the beginning of 2025, trade unions at all levels in the province have proactively mobilized and effectively allocated resources to care for thousands of union members and workers in difficult circumstances. During the Workers' Month of 2025 alone, the Provincial Federation of Labor presented hundreds of gifts to 362 workers in particularly difficult circumstances; and rewarded 2 excellent labor groups and teams. Thereby, further motivating workers to overcome difficulties and enthusiastically compete in labor production.

Also on this occasion, 11 "Union Shelters" were started and repaired with a total support budget of 720 million VND, deeply demonstrating the spirit of "mutual love" and the responsibility of the trade union organization in caring for and "leaving no one behind". In addition, the Fund for supporting poor workers to develop the economy has disbursed to 320 workers with a total amount of more than 8 billion VND, reaching 110.7%, contributing to solving financial difficulties, supporting workers to improve their lives and feel secure in their commitment to the enterprise.

Dialogue activities between workers and the government, businesses and leaders at all levels have been promoted by trade unions at all levels in the province, creating a practical forum to listen, understand and promptly resolve the legitimate aspirations and wishes of workers. Since the beginning of 2025, the whole province has organized 210 dialogue programs with the participation of more than 8,500 people. In particular, the meeting between provincial leaders and workers during Workers' Month 2025 received 12 important opinions and recommendations. These contents were directly received and answered by provincial leaders and representatives of departments and branches, clearly demonstrating the spirit of openness, listening and accompanying workers in the process of local socio-economic development.

The results achieved in recent times have clearly affirmed the increasingly important role and position of the Trade Union in taking comprehensive care of the material and spiritual life of union members and workers. The Trade Union is a companion, a solid support to help workers feel secure in their work, making an important contribution to the socio-economic development of the province. In the journey of innovation and integration, trade unions at all levels have increasingly affirmed their role as "trusted friends of workers", for the harmonious development between enterprises and workers.
