Tropical depression likely to affect from Thanh Hoa to Hue

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, a tropical depression is currently active in the East Sea and is likely to affect the mainland of our country; heavy rain and floods will still appear in the coming days.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, a tropical depression is currently active in the East Sea and is likely to affect the mainland of our country; heavy rain and floods will continue to appear in the coming days.

Therefore, the government and people need to proactively monitor weather developments and proactively respond appropriately.

Regarding the development of the tropical depression, Associate Professor, Doctor, Director of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting Mai Van Khiem said that the tropical depression is currently in the eastern sea of ​​the North East Sea, level 6-7, gusting to level 9.

It is forecasted that in the next 1-2 days, the tropical depression will move in the West-Northwest direction and is likely to affect the provinces and cities of the North Central region ( Thanh Hoa to Hue) around August 30-31.

Along with that, from August 30 to September 1, the North and the Thanh Hoa- Hue area will have moderate to heavy rain. Regarding the flood situation, by the morning of August 28, the water level on Thanh Hoa rivers had peaked and was gradually decreasing.

On the evening of August 28, the Ma River, Len River and Yen River are forecast to drop below alert level 1, basically ending the flooding outside the dike. However, the Buoi River and Cau Chay River remain at high levels, causing flooding outside the dike until around the morning of August 30.

Hoat River area (Ha Trung, Ha Long, Tong Son, Hoat Giang) may continue to be deeply flooded for the next 3-4 days.

To proactively respond to the tropical depression, the Minister of Agriculture and Environment requested ministries, branches and People's Committees of coastal provinces and cities from Quang Ninh to Khanh Hoa to closely monitor the developments of the tropical depression; strictly manage means of transport going to sea; organize counting and notify owners of means of transport, captains of ships and boats operating at sea of ​​the location, direction of movement and developments of the tropical depression to proactively avoid, escape or not move into dangerous areas.
