Kvaratskhelia is on Arsenal's radar. |
Arsenal are very close to winning their first Premier League title in 22 years, but behind this triumphant run lies a host of big questions about manager Mikel Arteta's attacking options.
Arsenal's hard-fought 1-0 victory over West Ham on May 10th further demonstrated their reliance on defensive solidity rather than attacking prowess. Leandro Trossard's hero, with a deflected shot that secured the crucial goal in the 84th minute, was the Belgian international's first goal in 25 appearances across all competitions.
It's not just Trossard; many other Arsenal attacking stars have also been disappointing. Martin Odegaard went over 135 days without scoring in the Premier League, while Gabriel Martinelli has only scored one domestic goal this season and has gone 232 days without finding the net.
The declining form of key players has prompted Arsenal's management to begin considering a major overhaul this summer. According to the English media, Martinelli and Trossard could be put on the transfer market if the Gunners find suitable targets to upgrade their attack.
The name most frequently mentioned is Kvaratskhelia. The PSG star has impressed greatly this season with 28 goal contributions and is valued at 90 million euros. Besides Kvaratskhelia, Arsenal are also monitoring Julian Alvarez, Anthony Gordon, and Bradley Barcola.
Arteta understands that if Arsenal want to build a true empire at Emirates, they cannot continue to rely on minimal victories and defensive brilliance. The championship is within reach, but a major overhaul of the attack is the London club's biggest priority in the summer of 2026.
