“An Australian education has helped me discover my full potential,” said Nguyen Thi Van, recipient of the Alumni Award for Economic Engagement. “I have not only been equipped with skills, but also empowered and confident. This has changed the way I lead and accompany other people with disabilities on their journey to a better life. I am determined to continue on this path, inspired by my long-standing connection with Australia.”

The Australia-Vietnam Human Resources Development Program (Aus4Skills) has gone through a 10-year journey, contributing to promoting understanding and connection between the people of the two countries, thereby strengthening the Australia-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. In addition to supporting alumni, Aus4Skills also implements components on Australian Government scholarships, vocational education, capacity building in higher education and leadership development in the public sector in Vietnam.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy, Director of the Department of International Cooperation (Ministry of Education and Training) emphasized: With many opportunities to access global knowledge and skills, Australian alumni are making practical contributions to Vietnam's economic growth, modernization and international integration.

For more than half a century since the establishment of diplomatic relations (1973), education has always been one of the pillars of sustainable cooperation between Vietnam and Australia. More than 160,000 former Vietnamese students who studied in Australia are now working in both the public and private sectors, from central to local levels. They are leaders, experts, and policy makers who are actively contributing to the development of the country and promoting extensive cooperation between the two countries.
