Minister of Public Security: The People's Public Security Force will always be a sharp sword and a steel shield.

General Luong Tam Quang emphasized that the People's Public Security Forces will forever be worthy of being an important armed force, a sharp "sword" and a solid "steel shield" protecting the Fatherland, the Party, the State and the people.

At the ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Public Security Traditional Day and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection, this morning, the People's Public Security Force (CAND) was honored to receive the Gold Star Order for the 5th time.

On behalf of generations of former police officers, Major General Phan Van Lai, Hero of the People's Armed Forces, former Deputy Director General of the General Department of Police Force Building, Head of the Public Security Liaison Committee to support the Southern battlefield, shared about the development of the police force.

With 95 years of age, 75 years of Party membership and 76 years of experience in the People's Public Security sector, having experienced two great wars of national defense, he expressed his emotion and pride.

He shared that he witnessed and contributed to the growth and maturity of the People's Public Security Forces, and listened to General Secretary To Lam, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, evaluate and acknowledge the achievements and feats of the People's Public Security Forces over the past 80 years.

"How can we not be proud that our generation, the pioneers, sacrificed themselves for the independence and freedom of the country, for the unity and territorial integrity and for the peaceful and happy life of the people, writing golden pages of history of the People's Public Security Forces.

Today, generations of police officers and soldiers - my comrades and teammates - are following in their footsteps, overcoming many difficulties and hardships, tirelessly sacrificing themselves for the people and the country...", Mr. Phan Van Lai expressed.

Although he has been retired for more than 30 years, Major General Phan Van Lai has always followed every change and development of the People's Public Security Forces. The People's Public Security Forces have been awarded the Gold Star Order for the 5th time by the Party and State - this is a recognition and a worthy reward for the Heroes.

"We, the predecessors, are old and weak, but we promise to always live happily, healthily, and usefully, to set an example for our children and grandchildren and to be worthy of the title of the heroic Vietnamese People's Public Security Force!", he emphasized.

Major General Phan Van Lai hopes that his comrades, officers and soldiers of the People's Public Security Forces today will always strive, study and practice according to the six teachings of Uncle Ho to the People's Public Security Forces, overcome all difficulties and challenges to build a strong, disciplined, elite and modern People's Public Security Forces.

In any circumstance, always be loyal to the Fatherland, the people, the Party and the State; excellently complete all tasks assigned by the Party, the State and the people...

Representing the youth of the People's Public Security Forces, Senior Lieutenant Tran Ha My, a member of the Youth Union of the Guard Command, affirmed that the young generation of the People's Public Security Forces is always proud of the heroic and glorious tradition of the People's Public Security Forces.

That tradition is crystallized from the passion, intelligence, courage and sacrifice of generations of police officers and soldiers born from the people and serving the people.

That tradition also comes from the constant and persistent study and practice of the six teachings of beloved Uncle Ho. Because those are the ethics and qualities that a revolutionary police officer must have and must maintain correctly.
