Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh spoke at the award ceremony.

“After more than 4 months of launching, the Organizing Committee has received 17,000 photos and videos, nearly double that of last year. With a sense of responsibility and fairness, the Jury has selected 36 winning works, along with 150 photos and 29 typical videos to display at the exhibition. Each work is a true slice of life, a beautiful moment recording the transformation of Vietnam. All blend together to create a vivid picture of a happy, civilized, and unique Vietnam, which is rising strongly in the journey of integration and development,” Mr. Le Hai Binh emphasized.

According to Permanent Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh, a very special thing is that the authors come from different professions, ages, regions and ethnicities. They use different equipment, from professional to very simple, but they all have one thing in common: That is the passionate love, the heart devoted to the Fatherland and the desire to convey the image of a peaceful, beautiful, dynamic and happy Vietnam to the world. Especially in 2025 with its many historical milestones, those images have been spread more strongly than ever throughout our country as well as to international friends.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded the First Prize in the Photo category to the work "Vietnam - The Era of Rising" by author Pham Ngoc Long Thien and the First Prize in the Video category to the work "Happy Smiles" by author Luu Minh Khuong. The truthful and humane stories in each work have contributed to spreading the spirit of happiness, sharing and belief in the good values of the Vietnamese people.

In order to make the video "Happy Smiles", author Luu Minh Khuong spent 2.5 years traveling around Vietnam to record everyday moments of people, the beauty of workers, children in the highlands, and tourists when they come to Vietnam.

The photo "Vietnam - The Era of Rising" by author Pham Ngoc Long Thien was taken on the evening of April 28, 2025, in the A50 event series - celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification. The atmosphere at Bach Dang Wharf that day was bustling and brilliant. Everyone - from children, elderly people to tourists, were all radiant, eagerly waiting for the record-setting Drone performance. That is "Happy Vietnam" - the happiness of being part of the flow of history and preserving it through a frame.

At the same time, 4 Second prizes; 6 Third prizes; 20 Encouragement prizes were awarded to authors with excellent works.

This year, Vietnam News Agency continues to have authors with award-winning works, with 1 Second Prize and 2 Encouragement Prizes. Specifically, author Bui Cuong Quyet (Photo Editorial Board) received the Second Prize with the Photo Collection: "Winning the ASEAN Cup 2024 - the third time the Vietnamese team conquered the peak of Southeast Asian football" and the Encouragement Prize with the photo collection: "Reviving lungs, a miracle for the sick"; author Trinh Xuan Tu, reporter of Dien Bien Resident Agency with the video work: "Technology lights up hope".

Notably, the Organizing Committee awarded 2 Creative Awards to 2 works (1 photo work, 1 video work) with new ideas, creative in content and form of expression; 2 Audience Choice Awards (audiences directly feel and choose the works that touch their hearts the most).

At the program, delegates scanned the QR code to "share happiness" with people in provinces that are suffering from storms and floods. The amount of money raised will be transferred directly and transparently to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to send to people affected by natural disasters and storms and floods. The total amount of donations will be announced on the Happy Vietnam program website at 10:00 p.m. on December 7.

Happiness is not only the existence of each person, but also the spreading and nurturing of other hopes. The entire Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square was united in a unified emotion when the moment of commitment to "Light up happiness" was initiated by Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh and the delegates. This is a commitment to spread happiness to the entire nation in 34 provinces and cities across the country and the world.
