On December 6, a source from Tuoi Tre Online said that the People's Committee of Can Tho City has just issued a decision to reorganize public service units under the Department of Health .
Accordingly, there are 7 units formed on the basis of merging corresponding units between Can Tho City (old) with Hau Giang Province and Soc Trang Province (old) including: Can Tho City Center for Disease Control; Can Tho City Testing Center; Can Tho City Medical Examination Center; Can Tho City Forensic Center; Can Tho City Social Work Center; Long Phu Regional Medical Center (on the basis of merging Long Phu Regional Medical Center and Tran De Regional Medical Center); Soc Trang Regional Medical Center (on the basis of merging Soc Trang Regional Medical Center and Chau Thanh Regional Medical Center).
Reorganize and rename 10 hospitals including: Can Tho City Tuberculosis and Lung Hospital to Can Tho City Lung Hospital, Hau Giang Provincial General Hospital to Hau Giang General Hospital, Soc Trang Provincial General Hospital to Soc Trang General Hospital, Hau Giang Provincial Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital to Hau Giang Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, Hau Giang Provincial Lung Hospital to Hau Giang Lung Hospital, Soc Trang Provincial Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital to Soc Trang Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, Soc Trang Provincial Military and Civilian Hospital to Soc Trang Military and Civilian Hospital, Hau Giang Provincial Psychiatric and Dermatology Specialized Hospital to Hau Giang Psychiatric - Dermatology Hospital.
Reorganize the April 30th Hospital of Soc Trang province into the Soc Trang Lung Hospital, the February 27th Specialized Hospital of Soc Trang province into the Soc Trang Mental - Dermatology - Eye Hospital. In addition, reorganize the internal structure of 15 other units including 8 hospitals and 7 regional medical centers.
Can Tho City People's Committee assigned the Director of the Department of Home Affairs to coordinate with the Director of the Department of Health to implement related contents on regulations on functions, tasks, organizational structure, job positions and number of employees at the above units according to regulations, ensuring streamlining and effective use of assigned employees.
