Products distributed to the market by MK Skincare Company
On the evening of December 6, the Ministry of Health informed about the management and handling of violations in the field of cosmetics production and trading.
Regarding the cosmetics case of MK Skincare Company - run by Mr. Hoang Kim Khanh, husband of Ms. Phan Thi Mai (Mailisa), the Ministry of Health said that since January 1, 2020, the Ministry of Health has received 100 dossiers declaring imported cosmetics that meet regulations.
MK Skincare Company's cosmetic product declaration dossier is received and stored on the Online Public Service System connected with Customs and the National Single Window.
Immediately after receiving information from the press, the Investigation Police Department and the Ministry of Health issued documents directing the health departments of provinces and cities to provide information on inspection, examination and handling of administrative violations (if any) against MK Skincare Company. At the same time, directing units in the testing system to take samples and check the quality; requesting the Company to provide test results and PIF.
According to a report by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health on September 17, it inspected and recorded the illegal product labeling of MK Skincare Company.
The Central Institute for Drug Control has collected some samples circulating on the market for quality testing. The test results are expected to be available in about 10-12 months.
On November 25, the Department of Drug Administration, Ministry of Health issued a Decision to suspend circulation and recall all cosmetic products published by MK Skincare Company due to the Company's failure to present the PIF Document as prescribed.
At the same time, the Ministry of Health requested the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy - Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information - Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to direct e-commerce platforms (Shopee, Lazada, Tiki, TikTok Shop ...) and social networks (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube ...) to stop trading, advertising, and posting articles related to recalled cosmetic products.
The Ministry of Health has been directing its affiliated and subordinate units to closely coordinate with functional agencies and handle cosmetic products of MK Skincare Company in accordance with regulations and authority.
Thus, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health inspected on September 17 and discovered violations and incorrect product labeling, but it was not until November 25, after the investigation agency announced violations related to this company, that the Drug Administration Department recalled the product for the reason of "failure to present the PIF file as prescribed".
This also makes many people question the "loopholes" in current cosmetics management.
