Regional universities support the promotion of universities in the region to improve the quality of teaching, research and technology transfer.

Academic community

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Hieu - Vice Principal of the University of Education, University of Danang said: “The school’s lecturers have many scientific research activities with colleagues from other universities in the region. Together, improving research capacity, publishing international articles… are what the University of Education, University of Danang aims for in supporting the development of the quality of the teaching staff.

With its strengths, the school also supports universities in the region to organize national and international scientific conferences such as participating in the Review Council, co-chairing...

Many international articles by lecturers from some universities in the region were born from the support of research groups from the University of Education, Danang University on research orientation, using laboratories to conduct in-depth experiments...

In another direction, according to Associate Professor Dr. Doan Ngoc Phi Anh - Vice Principal of the University of Economics, University of Danang, all seminars, exchanges, experience sharing, and new trends related to professional content are widely announced by the school for lecturers from schools in the area to participate.

Creating an academic environment for lecturers from economic universities in the region to participate in updating their expertise, conducting scientific research, and connecting with leading experts in the field of economics is one of the goals that the University of Economics, University of Danang is aiming for.

Therefore, the school organizes many seminars related to improving scientific research capacity, experience in writing international articles, skills in presenting research funding proposals, etc. so that young lecturers from universities in the area can participate in the exchange.

Recently, the University of Economics, Danang University and the Knowledge Bridge Institute organized a discussion on modern research methods with Professor Tom Smith from Macquarie University (Sydney, Australia) - one of the leading scholars in the field of finance - as the main speaker.

In addition to presenting in-depth content related to research methods in many fields, economic lecturers from Dong A University, Pham Van Dong University, Vinh Long University also had the opportunity to answer questions about data analysis techniques, how to combine qualitative and quantitative; and share practical difficulties in the process of implementing the topic.

In another direction, according to Associate Professor Dr. Le Van Huy - Principal of the University of Economics, University of Danang, the school publicly announces training programs on the website. Higher education institutions with the same training major or opening new majors can refer to or use it as a reference channel to adjust and update their training programs.

The University of Technical Education, University of Danang shared with the Technical Education Club about improving the quality of training, university administration and scientific research through international cooperation projects. With some international projects, higher education institutions often encounter difficulties mainly in administrative procedures such as permission, reporting, and financial management.

Some regulations between Europe and Vietnam are different, such as VAT treatment, project auditing, etc. To do so, schools must improve their capacity in searching and managing projects to improve and remove barriers.

Go far together

Dr. Vo Hong Son - Principal of the College of Commerce (Da Nang) said that in 2017, when entrepreneurship training in universities and colleges was still new, the school sent 2 lecturers to participate in a training course on entrepreneurship training.

“This is the initial foundation for the school to incorporate startup content into the training program, connect with businesses and startup centers to form a startup ecosystem. Lecturers also have the opportunity to approach new methods such as project-based teaching and design-thinking models,” Mr. Son assessed.

From the effectiveness of the school's comprehensive development when participating in projects under the Erasmus+ Program, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Le Hung - Rector of the University of Technical Education, Danang University proposed cooperation between universities in the Central coastal region for joint implementation.

This is a European Community programme to support activities related to education, training, youth and sport, including the development of cooperation between organisations and universities to support international projects based on multilateral partnerships between universities in EU member states or third countries.

According to the Rector of the University of Technical Education, University of Danang, based on the university network in the Central Coast region, the schools need to coordinate to propose projects together. Each Erasmus+ project requires at least 4 universities in Europe and 6 universities in Asia. Meanwhile, the university network in the Central Coast region has the great advantage of covering the Central Coast provinces (Quang Tri, Hue City, Da Nang...) with similar needs, so it is suitable to propose joint projects.

Recently, the University of Education, Danang University and Quang Nam College (Da Nang) signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation, focusing on coordinating the organization of educational events and seminars; building a transfer program from college to university, ensuring compatibility in training content; organizing seminars and discussions with businesses to update labor market needs; implementing training programs according to business orders...

Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Thi Phuong Anh - Principal of Quang Nam College affirmed that the event not only demonstrated the spirit of solidarity but also a strong commitment to develop together, improve education, and contribute to the cause of training high-quality human resources for the country and locality.

After restructuring its administrative boundaries, Da Nang needs to focus on exploiting the city’s unique strengths when it has more than 20 universities. In particular, it is necessary to prioritize investment or call for socialization to build a number of modern laboratories and research centers for shared use in industries and fields that the city and universities need.

The city needs to be proactive, playing the role of 'midwife' in connecting common resources between universities in the area, regardless of public or private, joining forces to develop together, attracting international students, contributing to making Da Nang an international university city. - Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu - Director of Da Nang University
