Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai was appointed Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee.

Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Politburo member and Head of the Central Mass Mobilization Commission, was assigned to hold the position of Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

The conference to announce the Politburo's decision was held on the afternoon of July 17. Ms. Hoai will stop participating in the Secretariat and holding the position of Head of the Central Mass Mobilization Commission to join the City Party Executive Committee and hold the position of Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee.

On behalf of the Politburo , General Luong Cuong, Standing member of the Secretariat, presented the decision and flowers to the new Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Bui Thi Minh Hoai.

Ms. Hoai is the first female Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee. She succeeded Mr. Dinh Tien Dung was approved by the Politburo to resign from the position of Secretary of the City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, Head of the 15th National Assembly Delegation of Hanoi City, on June 19.

Grandma Bui Thi Minh Hoai 59 years old, Master of Law, from Thanh Liem district, Ha Nam province. She is a member of the Party Central Committee for the 11th-13th terms, Secretary of the Party Central Committee for the 13th term, and member of the Politburo for the 13th term.

Ms. Hoai started her career as a level 1 officer and inspector in Nam Dinh province, then held many positions in Ha Nam province such as: Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, and Secretary of Phu Ly City Party Committee.

She then served as Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Farmers' Union for two years and as Vice Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee for 10 years. In April 2021, Ms. Hoai was assigned by the Politburo to hold the position of Head of the Central Mass Mobilization Commission. On May 16, 2024, she was one of four people appointed by the Central additional election to the Politburo lock 13

Since the beginning of the term (2020) until now, the position of head of the Hanoi Party Committee has changed three times. In February 2020, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue was assigned to hold the position of Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee to replace Mr. Hoang Trung Hai. In early April 2021, Minister of Finance Dinh Tien Dung was transferred to hold the position of Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee to replace Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue. And today, Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai was assigned to succeed Mr. Dinh Tien Dung.

The Hanoi Party Committee currently has four Deputy Secretaries, including Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyen (53 years old), Mr. Nguyen Van Phong (56 years old), Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan (58 years old) and Mr. Tran Sy Thanh (53 years old).
