Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai has been appointed Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee.

Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai, member of the Politburo and Head of the Central Committee's Mass Mobilization Department, has been transferred and assigned to the position of Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

The conference announcing the Politburo's decision was held on the afternoon of July 17th. Ms. Hoai will relinquish her position as Head of the Central Committee's Mass Mobilization Department to join the City Party Committee and assume the position of Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee.

On behalf of the Politburo , the General Luong Cuong, Standing Member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat, presented the decision and flowers to the new Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee, Bui Thi Minh Hoai.

Ms. Hoai was the first female Party Secretary of Hanoi. She succeeded Mr. Dinh Tien Dung He was approved by the Politburo to relinquish his position as Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term and Head of the 15th National Assembly Delegation of Hanoi City on June 19th.

Grandma Bui Thi Minh Hoai She is 59 years old, holds a Master's degree in Law, and hails from Thanh Liem district, Ha Nam province. She was a member of the Central Committee of the Party for three terms (11th-13th), Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party in the 13th term, and a member of the Politburo in the 13th term.

Ms. Hoai began her career as a first-level official and inspector in Nam Dinh province, and later held various positions in Ha Nam province, including Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department, and Secretary of the Phu Ly City Party Committee.

She then spent two years as the Standing Vice President of the Vietnam Farmers' Association and 10 years as the Deputy Head of the Central Inspection Committee. In April 2021, Ms. Hoai was assigned by the Politburo to the position of Head of the Central Committee's Mass Mobilization Department. On May 16, 2024, she was one of four people selected by the Central Committee. election to fill vacancies in the Politburo Class 13.

Since the beginning of the term (2020), the position of head of the Hanoi City Party Committee has changed three times. In February 2020, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue was appointed to the position of Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee, replacing Hoang Trung Hai. In early April 2021, Minister of Finance Dinh Tien Dung was transferred to the position of Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee, replacing Vuong Dinh Hue. And today, Bui Thi Minh Hoai has been appointed to succeed Dinh Tien Dung.

The Hanoi City Party Committee currently has four Deputy Secretaries: Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyen (53 years old), Mr. Nguyen Van Phong (56 years old), Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan (58 years old), and Mr. Tran Sy Thanh (53 years old).
