Ms. Luong Thi Thuy and Mr. Hua Luc Quyet (in village 12, Cuor Knia commune, Buon Don district) got married in difficult circumstances, both of them had no house or fields. The young couple had to live in a 30 m2 wooden house.
In 2017 and 2018, two children were born. Ms. Thuy was thin and weak, and was busy taking care of her young children, so all the family's living expenses depended on Mr. Quyet's salary. During the harvest season or on days with favorable weather and wind, when there was work, Mr. Quyet's salary was enough to cover their living expenses; on rainy days or when he was sick, they were short of money.

In September 2019, Mr. Quyet became seriously ill but had no money for treatment. He also had a poor diet, so he gradually became exhausted and passed away. His family was so poor that when Mr. Quyet passed away, the village and commune authorities had to mobilize support for the family to have a coffin for burial. Mr. Quyet passed away, leaving behind a skinny wife and two young children in a house with leaky pillars and no rice in the house. The burden of the family fell on the small shoulders of Ms. Thuy. She worked as a hired hand to earn money for the three of them, but the work was also irregular, sometimes available, sometimes not. Their two children lacked food and were so poor that they were skinny and not as healthy as their peers.
Thuy and her three children live in a rickety wooden house with exposed planks all around, so it is often exposed to rain and wind. There is nothing valuable in the house, only a shabby bed that could collapse at any time. The mother and children only hope to have some money to fix the house to make it more solid, so they don't have to worry about storms anymore.
Ms. Thuy's family situation is in great need of sharing, support and assistance from organizations and individuals with kind hearts.
