Three grandfather and grandchildren died in a drowning accident.

(Baoquangngai.vn) - On the evening of June 16, Chairman of Binh Duong Commune People's Committee Nguyen Quang Vu said that a drowning accident had just occurred in the commune, killing 3 people at the same time.

The incident occurred at around 6:00 p.m. the same day. Mr. N.D.B (69 years old) in My Hue 1 village, Binh Duong commune (Binh Son) and his two grandchildren, N.D.M (12 years old, Mr. B's grandson) in Chau O town and NQH (8 years old, Mr. B's granddaughter) in Binh Phuoc commune (Binh Son) went swimming in the Tra Bong river area (Cap Gia river section) and had a drowning accident.

The accident was discovered by local people rowing a boat on the river. Immediately upon discovery, people reported to the authorities to mobilize human resources to search for the victims.

An hour later, the two children were found first and taken to the Binh Son District Medical Center for emergency treatment. At around 9:00 p.m. on June 16, the center's leadership confirmed that upon receiving them, doctors and nurses tried their best to save the victims but were unable to save them, and the two children died outside the hospital.

Mr. B was found later and also died. The bodies of all three victims have been returned to their families for burial. The cause of the accident is under investigation. According to statistics from Binh Son district, since the beginning of the year, there have been 6 drowning accidents in the district, resulting in 10 deaths.
