Viettel will research and develop 9 out of 11 national strategic technologies.

Viettel aims for double-digit growth each year in the 2025-2030 period, mastering national strategic technologies and exporting “Make in Vietnam” technology products. In terms of the military, Viettel will be the main force in researching and producing advanced and modern weapons and equipment for the army.

On August 4, 5, and 6, the Military Industry-Telecoms Group (Viettel) held the 11th Party Congress of the group for the 2025-2030 term. Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam, member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of National Defense , attended and directed the congress. The congress was attended by 268 delegates, representing nearly 10,000 party members from 641 grassroots party organizations of the group.

The report at the congress said that during the past term, the Party Committee of Viettel Group led the unit to excellently complete its tasks, affirming its core and pioneering role in the State-owned enterprise sector, which is a convincing proof of the correct and creative application of the socialist-oriented market economic development path, contributing to the good performance of the functions of a combat army, a working army and a production army.

Viettel maintained stable growth, reaching the finish line at a double-digit rate at the end of its term. Accumulated in the period of 2021 - 2025, consolidated revenue reached 888.2 trillion VND, an increase of nearly 25% compared to the period of 2016 - 2020. Viettel is always the leading enterprise in the country, paying the highest corporate income tax, and having the number 1 brand value in Vietnam according to the assessment of prestigious international organizations.

The field of national defense and security has achieved remarkable achievements. Viettel has mastered many strategic weapons according to project A1, completed research and produced more than 50 types of high-tech weapons and equipment that have been put into service to serve well the training and combat readiness tasks of many units under the Ministry of National Defense.

At the Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term, Viettel displayed a number of strategic military equipment products such as: "Truong Son" missile complex, S125-VT air defense missile complex, fire control radar, reconnaissance and jamming complex against unmanned aerial vehicles, vertical take-off and landing medium-altitude reconnaissance UAV, tactical combat UAV...

The S125-VT missile complex researched and manufactured by Viettel was displayed at the congress.

During the 2025 - 2030 term, the Party Committee of Viettel Group determined to make a breakthrough in science and technology development, making Vietnam an exporter of high-tech products to the international market. Specifically, Viettel will pioneer in maintaining a high average growth rate, with double digits or more, in line with the determination of the Party and State to develop the economy and society.

At the same time, promote the global business strategy, making Vietnam a country from importing to exporting high technology. The target for international revenue in the field of telecommunications and digital services is to grow from 35% to 40%; the growth target for high-tech industrial products and digital technology industry is from 25% to 30%.

Viettel will proactively research and develop 9 out of 11 national strategic technologies including AI, digital copy, virtual reality/augmented reality, cloud computing and quantum computing, big data, blockchain, 5G/6G, robotics and automation, semiconductor chips, energy and advanced materials, cybersecurity, aerospace. In the period of 2025 - 2030, Viettel will play the role of a leading nucleus of the high-tech defense industrial complex; proactively advise and propose new types of technical weapons and equipment to the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense.

At the congress, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam directed: "To complete the goals and tasks in the coming term, Viettel Group must constantly innovate, create, improve production and business efficiency, and carry out military and defense tasks. Pioneer in mastering national strategic technology and industry; focus on researching, producing, and supplying advanced and modern weapons and equipment for the army. Actively invest in facilities, develop new and modern products and services suitable to the requirements of the 4.0 revolution. Implement corporate culture well, maintain prestige and brand, create customer trust; strengthen cooperation, and expand the market".
