During the event at OPPO's global headquarters and R&D center in Binhai Bay Campus, OPPO shared its vision for a new generation of quality standards: Committing to quality at every step of the product development process, from early-stage research to final device testing.

Taking smartphone quality to the next level

“Quality is the foundation of everything. Through continuous quality improvements, OPPO is committed to giving users complete freedom on their journey of experience. For us, quality is not just a feature, but the freedom for you to create your own moments,” said Mr. Grus Shan, Director of OPPO’s Product Department.

With core breakthroughs in design, Apex Guard not only protects the device from unexpected situations such as falling into water or impact, but also ensures a smooth and seamless experience beyond basic usage.

Through pioneering research in materials and product design, OPPO has developed advanced materials such as Ultra-High-Strength Steel, AM04 aerospace-grade aluminum alloy, and Armour Shield, which help the device better withstand daily wear and tear as well as strong impacts that go beyond conventional standards.

Apex Guard provides ultimate peace of mind with superior durability over time. The new generation Silicon-Carbon Battery technology uses custom-made spherical silicon-carbon materials to enhance safety while extending battery life by 400 cycles compared to conventional technology. As a result, OPPO devices maintain high performance and durability for longer.

New generation quality standards surpass the industry standard

To ensure superior quality from the start, OPPO cooperates with prestigious international inspection organizations such as TÜV Rheinland, TÜV SÜD and SGS, and applies standards that are much more stringent than the industry average.

OPPO devices are manufactured with high precision down to the last detail and undergo the most rigorous testing, including multiple rounds of new material quality evaluation and more than 180 tests from pre-R&D to the end of the product life cycle.

In addition to products, OPPO's after-sales service also exceeds industry standards, providing more comprehensive quality assurance to users.

Redefining quality standards with slick software

Smooth experience is one of the most direct factors that help users feel the quality of a smartphone, OPPO has integrated software innovations into an important part of the Apex Guard system to enhance and prolong the smooth experience over time.

To ensure smoothness every day, the new Luminous Rendering Engine on ColorOS 16 brings the first Unified Animation Architecture on the Android platform, ensuring that app launches and interface transitions are naturally seamless.

In heavier workloads, the new Trinity Engine's chip-level Dynamic Frame Sync Technology helps the system respond in real-time to frame rendering when multitasking.

Meanwhile, Sensor-Offload leverages the SoC's power to handle critical sensor tasks, significantly reducing overall power consumption when shooting 4K 60fps video .

To maintain smoothness over time, OPPO has introduced the Instant Refresh feature on ColorOS 16 for mainstream devices, allowing users to reduce data fragmentation and optimize app permissions with just one tap.

OPPO also conducts rigorous aging tests by simulating long-term phone use for 48, 60, or 72 months, to ensure the device remains smooth and responsive after years of use.

Aiming for a smooth all-round experience, OPPO also builds quantitative evaluation systems based on measurement data.

The OPPO Smoothness Baseline test tests software in hundreds of real-life scenarios, while the industry-first Parallel Animation Standard 6 Zero (0 lag, 0 latency, 0 stutter, 0 hang, 0 mis-open, 0 freeze) measures app launch and home screen animations.

This sets a new standard for software quality across the entire product range, from the entry-level A Series to the premium Find Series.

OPPO has applied Robots in research and production operations.

With the continued expansion of facilities at Binhai Bay, OPPO expects the R&D center to gain advantages in scale and consistency, while leveraging state-of-the-art equipment and centralized resources to continue to raise quality standards.

Here, OPPO is equipped with many advanced laboratories such as Materials Laboratory, Smart Device Testing Laboratory, Energy Consumption Laboratory and Communication Laboratory, each of which conducts in-depth quality assessments to ensure hardware reliability and smooth software experience for users.
