In a recent notice sent to customers, Saigontourist Cable Television (SCTV) said that the operator of the K+ channel system, VSTV, will stop broadcasting this entire group of channels from January 1, 2026.
Users using the K+ package on the SCTV platform can continue to watch 5 channels until December 31, 2025. After that time, the signal will be completely stopped, not only on SCTV but also on other distribution platforms.
Regarding the Premier League, the content that is of particular interest to audiences, the unit holding the broadcasting rights will have a separate announcement in the near future. According to many sources,FPT Play, the internet television service of FPT Telecom Joint Stock Company (FPT Telecom), is said to be the unit that will take over the Premier League copyright contract in Vietnam from K+.

K+ Store
The news that K+ will stop operating has surprised and saddened many viewers. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son's family (HCMC) said that for many years they have been using K+ to watch international football, tennis and blockbuster movies. As soon as he received the notice of the suspension of broadcasting, he was worried about the remaining benefits of the package and the ability to continue watching matches in the Premier League.
He contacted the K+ switchboard and was informed by a consultant that customers whose service is still valid after January 1, 2026 will be supported to switch to a special package of FPT Play, including Internet, television and full rights to watch the Premier League.
The new package price is expected to be nearly 300,000 VND/month. The initial conversion cost is about 300,000 VND, and old K+ devices will stop working from 2026.
Meanwhile, contacting FPT Play staff, we learned that customers using K+ via SCTV need to cancel the old package and register for a new FPT Play package to watch Premier League matches.
Users who choose to register in December will be exempted from fees for January and February 2026; from March onwards, the price will be nearly 300,000 VND/month. SCTV will handle the processing of old packages.
In particular, this employee confirmed that FPT Play is the unit that owns the copyright to broadcast the English Premier League in Vietnam.
As for SCTV, the unit has a policy of converting service packages completely free of charge for customers who are using existing digital receivers.
According to the units, customers need to provide specific information to receive support on a case-by-case basis. Avoid going to illegal websites... In particular, it is necessary to carefully check the package information and broadcasting format before registering, prioritizing services with clear and official registration.
Launched in 2009, K+ TV channels attracted attention when they brought a premium pay TV model and attractive football tournaments.
However, in the context of the strong development of the internet and OTT platforms, the operation of the station is gradually under a lot of pressure. In addition, the situation of illegal football viewing for a long time also greatly affects revenue.
Before the closure information was confirmed by partners, K+ had made many moves to reduce operations.
Since the beginning of October, the station has stopped selling all new satellite receivers and TV Boxes, only providing OTT services via the app and website. The renewal packages have also been continuously shortened.
As of November 20, users only have two options: renew monthly or watch until December 31. In December, major platforms such as FPT Play, MyTV, and TV360 simultaneously stopped selling new K+ packages.
Information about K+'s possible withdrawal has been circulating since July, after Canal+ (France), the strategic shareholder, considered leaving the market due to increasing accumulated losses and not finding a solution.
Canal+ leaders also mentioned the possibility of strong restructuring or ceasing operations in Vietnam.
