The People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province has just issued a document approving the policy allowing the Department of Culture - Sports to coordinate with the Department of Physical Training and Sports to host 5 international high-performance sports tournaments at the Asian scale in 2025.
Accordingly, the province plans to host five sports tournaments, including: The 10th Asian Men's and Women's Beach Handball Championship in 2025 (qualifying round for the 2026 World Championship); Asian Jujitsu Youth Championship and Championship; Asian Muay Thai Championship; Asian U17 and U23 Wrestling Championship; Asian Kickboxing Championship.
About 5,000 athletes and coaches from more than 150 countries and territories, along with referees, supervisors, and officials from national and Asian federations, are expected to attend.
Mr. Huynh Duc Dung, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports, said that Ba Ria - Vung Tau has advantages in natural conditions, traffic infrastructure, facilities, stadiums, etc. to ensure the organization of tournaments. In addition, the system of high-class, safe hotels meets the requirements for accommodation and meals of athletes when hosting international tournaments.
The Department of Culture and Sports coordinates with the Department of Physical Education and Sports to develop a plan and determine tasks in hosting and organizing, ensuring professional, security and safety requirements.
According to the plan, in November, Asian sports federations will be present in Vietnam to coordinate with the Department of Physical Education and Sports to conduct surveys of the venues expected to host the tournament. After receiving a comprehensive assessment from the federations, the Department of Physical Education and Sports and Ba Ria - Vung Tau will proactively complete the conditions for organizing the tournament./.
