Ms. Vo Thi Anh Xuan holds the position of President for the second time.

On the morning of March 21, at the 6th extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly , the National Assembly Standing Committee announced the implementation of the powers of the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan holds the position of President until the National Assembly elects a new President.

Accordingly, the National Assembly Standing Committee announced: Ms. Vo Thi Anh Xuan, Vice President, holds the position of President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam until the National Assembly elects a new President.

This is based on the Constitution; Law on Organization of the National Assembly; Resolution of the 6th extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly; Conclusion of the Politburo on assigning a Party Central Committee member to hold the position of President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

This is the second time Ms. Vo Thi Anh Xuan has held the position of acting President. Previously, Ms. Xuan was assigned to hold the position for 2 months, from January to March 2023.

Ms. Vo Thi Anh Xuan was born on January 8, 1970; hometown is Thoi Son commune, Tinh Bien district, An Giang province; professional qualifications: bachelor of chemistry pedagogy, master of public management.

She is a member of the Party Central Committee of the 11th (alternate), 12th, 13th terms; and a National Assembly delegate of the 14th and 15th terms.

Ms. Vo Thi Anh Xuan grew up as a teacher at My Thoi High School, Long Xuyen town. After that, she worked as a general research specialist at the An Giang Provincial Party Committee Office.

From 2001 to 2010, she held the positions of Vice President, President of the Women's Union of An Giang Province; Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission; Secretary of Tan Chau Town Party Committee. After that, she held the position of Vice President of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee.

On October 2, 2015, the Politburo assigned and appointed her to the position of Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee for the 2010-2015 term. Immediately after that, the 10th Provincial Party Congress, term 2015-2020, elected her to the position of Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and re-elected her as Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

On April 6, 2021, at the 11th session of the 14th National Assembly, Ms. Vo Thi Anh Xuan was elected Vice President and re-elected to this position at the first session of the 15th National Assembly in July 2021 until now.
