80 households in the districts of Tan Yen, Hiep Hoa, Lang Giang, Luc Nam; Viet Yen town; Bac Giang city participated. Households were supported with 50% of the cost of purchasing sensors, oxygen generators, fish feeders, and surveillance camera systems; 60% of the cost of purchasing fish fry; 100% of the cost of purchasing medicines, chemicals, biological products, environmental measuring equipment, support for certification of meeting VietGAP standards, training, and study tours.
In addition, there are nearly 70 hectares (not included in the project) where many households in the province have proactively applied automation and biotechnology in management, care, and disease prevention.
Through evaluation, when applying automation and biotechnology to aquaculture, the average yield reaches 14-15 tons/ha (an increase of 15-20% compared to before applying the model).
In 2025, the Department of Agriculture and Environment will continue to support 15 households participating in the project with an area of 23.5 hectares. Currently, the specialized agency is completing the procedures, and is expected to hand over seeds and materials to the households in June 2025.
It is known that the whole province has about 11.8 thousand hectares of aquaculture. Of which, more than 6.3 thousand hectares are specialized aquaculture; nearly 4.5 thousand hectares are intensive and semi-intensive; nearly 1 thousand hectares meet VietGAP standards. On average, each year, the province's commercial fish output reaches nearly 54 thousand tons.
