To improve the efficiency and value of this year's winter crops, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has implemented many solutions to support farmers in production and replicate models with high economic efficiency. To date, localities have planted more than 22,500 hectares, reaching 102.4% of the plan. Of which, corn is nearly 4,900 hectares, reaching 106.3% of the plan; peanuts are more than 890 hectares, reaching 99.3% of the plan; sweet potatoes are more than 1,900 hectares, reaching 109.3% of the plan; vegetables of all kinds are 13,310 hectares, reaching 98.6% of the plan. Some localities have exceeded the plan such as: Lang Giang, Luc Nam, Luc Ngan and Viet Yen town.

Along with the production of winter crops, localities in the province focused on harvesting citrus fruits. Of which, grapefruit trees harvested 11,400 tons; orange trees harvested 5,500 tons. Currently, grapefruit prices range from 30-45 thousand/kg, 15-20 thousand/kg higher than the same period; orange prices range from 20-25 thousand/kg, 5-10 thousand/kg higher than the same period.

In the coming time, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of the province will continue to direct localities to focus on guiding people to speed up the progress of planting winter crops; instruct farmers to care for and prevent pests and diseases of winter vegetables that prefer warm-season crops. Support people in producing and consuming off-season oranges, grapefruits, custard-apples and other key agricultural products, typical of the province . Closely monitor weather developments and production practices to flexibly adjust the crop structure to suit the season. Focus on planting valuable cold-loving crops such as potatoes, kohlrabi, cabbage, onions, garlic, etc. within the seasonal calendar; promote the application of production processes according to VietGap and organic standards, to increase value and production efficiency./.
