Bac Quang, economic prosperity with strategic vision

BHG - Agriculture develops in the direction of commodities; industry, transportation, and urban areas make breakthroughs; services and trade transform dynamically; budget revenue grows beyond expectations... All of these have created a bright economic picture, becoming a solid foundation for Bac Quang district to develop quickly and sustainably.

With important and practical decisions, Bac Quang district has successfully built 5 key commodity production areas associated with product processing and consumption, including: Orange specialized production area with a total area of over 4,000 hectares, output of over 40,000 tons/year; tea production area of over 5,000 hectares, fresh tea bud output of 25,000 tons/year; peanut production area of nearly 2,100 hectares, output of 6,500 tons/year; large livestock farming area with a scale of over 22,000 heads/year, pig farming of over 85,000 heads/year and concentrated economic forest planting area with good varieties with a scale of nearly 3,500 hectares. Along with that, in order to develop agriculture according to the value chain associated with brand building and increasing added value, Bac Quang district has 60 products achieving 3-4 star OCOP, focusing on areas with strengths such as: Sanh oranges, Shan Tuyet tea and products processed from chicken, pork, buffalo...

In the livestock sector, the whole district has maintained a stable total herd of over 100,000 cattle, poultry exceeding 1.1 million; the output of fresh meat for slaughter reaches over 9,000 tons/year. Not only that, the whole district also has 91 livestock and poultry farming models with revenue from 150 million VND to billions of VND per year, spreading modern farming thinking, adapting to the market mechanism. A typical example is Mr. Nguyen Xuan Doan's household (Vinh Tuy town) raising pigs in a closed, bio-safe manner with a scale of 200 pigs/batch, bringing in a profit of over 1.4 billion VND per year. Not only are there households strongly shifting from small-scale farming to large-scale commodity farming, but there are also many businesses investing systematically in this field in the district. A typical example is the model of raising sows and pigs on an industrial, modern scale of Acnor Vietnam Joint Stock Company (Viet Vinh commune). This is one of the largest concentrated livestock farms in the province, with synchronous investment from the barn system, environmental treatment, food to disease prevention and control. With a scale of up to 10,000 pigs/batch, bringing the business a profit of more than 17 billion VND per year.

Along with agriculture, the industrial and construction sector of Bac Quang district also recorded remarkable progress. In 2024 alone, the industrial and construction production value of the district reached 3,220 million VND, an increase of 80% compared to 2020. This is an impressive growth rate, demonstrating the effectiveness of promoting state management of industry, unblocking investment flows, developing production infrastructure and improving local competitiveness. Currently, the whole district has 233 enterprises, industrial and handicraft production establishments, making an important contribution to the economic restructuring of the district.

With the goal of building a civilized and modern urban area, Bac Quang district has focused on investing in synchronous development of infrastructure, especially the traffic system - the important "blood vessel" connecting central areas with concentrated production areas. From 2020 to now, the whole district has upgraded and repaired 7 district roads with a total length of nearly 77 km, with a total investment of nearly 237 billion VND; completed more than 367 km of rural roads, built 11 new bridges with a total cost of more than 400 billion VND. Many key infrastructure projects such as: Belt road connecting group 12, Viet Quang town to Viet Vinh commune; District multi-purpose stadium - gymnasium; renovation of the Children's Palace, lake campus of residential group 4, Viet Quang town... are being implemented on schedule, contributing to changing the urban appearance of the district.

The synchronous development of infrastructure has "paved the way" for all types of services, from hotels, restaurants, supermarkets to e-commerce to accelerate, with a growth rate 2.5 times higher than in 2020. Along with that, the rural market system in the district has received investment attention, 16 markets have been planned and renovated, 5 markets have converted their model from state management to enterprises, gradually improving exploitation efficiency. This is an important foundation for developing the rural economy, promoting the circulation of goods, expanding the distribution network, creating conditions for local products to reach further. Thanks to that, in 2024, the total turnover of goods and services in the whole district will reach nearly 3,400 billion VND, an increase of 62% compared to 2020.

In particular, in 2024 alone, the state budget revenue in the district will reach 243.8 billion VND, an increase of nearly 175% compared to the total revenue of the entire period 2015 - 2020. This result not only reflects the effective management and operation capacity of public finance but also clearly demonstrates the ability to attract investment and expand production and business activities in the area. Along with that, the total social development investment capital in the period 2020 - 2025 is estimated at 11,878 billion VND, showing the increasing attractiveness of Bac Quang district in the eyes of investors.

The above outstanding results once again demonstrate the strategic vision of the Party Committee and the government of Bac Quang district in promoting high-quality agriculture, expanding industry and services, investing in synchronous infrastructure, and effectively unleashing resources. But above all, the consensus of the entire political system and the people has created a solid foundation, becoming an endogenous strength for Bac Quang district to break through, worthy of being a dynamic region at the southern gateway of the province.
