Doctors from Viet Duc Friendship Hospital consult remotely to save victims of the collapsed suspension bridge in Dien Bien

Immediately after receiving information about the need for professional support from Dien Bien Provincial General Hospital for 3 injured victims in the suspension bridge collapse in Dien Bien, this afternoon, doctors from Viet Duc Friendship Hospital conducted a consultation on each case.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Manh Khanh, Deputy Director of the Hospital chaired the online consultation.

Due to the impact of storm Wipha causing prolonged heavy rain, Pa Thom suspension bridge ( Dien Bien ) suddenly collapsed, causing 3 people to fall into the river and suffer serious injuries.

At 10:10 a.m. on July 22, the victims were quickly taken to Dien Bien Provincial General Hospital for emergency treatment in a state of serious multiple injuries.

Immediately after receiving the request for professional support, Viet Duc Friendship Hospital organized an online consultation chaired by Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Manh Khanh, Deputy Director of the Hospital.

Of the 3 patients, case LXT (43 years old, Dien Bien Phu ward) was diagnosed with multiple trauma shock, critical, and will be transferred to Viet Duc Friendship Hospital for continued treatment.

Specialist II Doctor Le Nhat Huy, Deputy Director of the Center for Colon and Rectal Surgery and Perineum attended the consultation.

The remaining two patients, VBL (34 years old, Dien Bien) with closed chest trauma, and TKT (57 years old, Ha Dong, Hanoi ) with head trauma, were assigned to be monitored and treated on site and continued to receive remote professional support from doctors at Viet Duc Friendship Hospital.
