The precious metals market had a positive trading session, with silver prices rising 1.86% to $31.24/ounce and platinum recovering nearly 2% to $976.2/ounce, ending a four-session losing streak.

The rebound came after the release of the US consumer price index (CPI) report for September. The data showed inflation was still running higher than expected, raising concerns that the US Federal Reserve (FED) might pause its rate-cutting cycle. However, reassuring comments from some Fed officials later helped ease those concerns and reinforced expectations that the Fed would continue to ease monetary policy.

According to CME Group's FedWatch tool, the market is currently betting 80% on the possibility that the Fed will cut interest rates by 25 basis points at its November meeting. This optimism has pushed money into safe-haven assets such as gold, silver and platinum, supporting the price of these precious metals to increase sharply.
