(DTO) Building on the achievements of the 2023-2025 period, the trade unions at all levels in Dong Thap province continue to set goals for innovation in the content and methods of their activities, focusing on practicality and modernity, with union members and workers at the center.

By promoting digital transformation, enhancing the capacity of grassroots trade union officials, and strengthening social welfare in the context of a volatile labor market, the trade union organization aims to build harmonious and stable labor relations, contributing to accompanying workers in the new development phase.

IMPROVING OPERATIONAL QUALITY

Entering a new term, the Dong Thap Provincial Trade Union continues to identify improving the quality of grassroots trade union activities as a central and overarching task. This serves as both a foundation for consolidating the role of representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers, and a crucial factor in helping trade union organizations adapt flexibly to the new demands of the current realities of workers' lives.

The Dong Thap Provincial Federation of Labor organized a conference and training session for trade union officials.

Apache Vietnam Footwear Co., Ltd. (Long Giang Industrial Park, Tan Phuoc 3 Commune) is a 100% foreign-invested enterprise. Given this unique characteristic, implementing grassroots democracy regulations is always a challenge, but also an opportunity for the trade union to affirm its position.

Over the years, closely following the guidance of the higher-level trade union, the grassroots trade union has proactively coordinated with the company's Board of Directors to comprehensively implement the contents of the Regulations on Democracy.

Ms. Le Thi Ngoc Han, Chairwoman of the company's Trade Union, stated that the Trade Union recognizes dialogue as the most important channel for understanding employees. Instead of merely going through the motions, the Trade Union has established a regular system for this activity with one employee conference and three periodic dialogues annually, in addition to impromptu dialogues when necessary.

The dialogues addressed pressing and practical issues such as adjusting labor quotas, shift arrangements, wages, benefits, and improving the quality of meals provided during work shifts. As a result of these dialogues, many legitimate requests were resolved promptly.

"Specifically, this involves improving the cooling system to reduce factory temperatures; adjusting and increasing the portion sizes and quality of meals for workers; adding protective equipment and improving walkways to minimize workplace safety risks."

"In particular, issues regarding overtime scheduling and overtime pay schemes have been reasonably agreed upon, helping to strengthen employee confidence and minimize potential conflicts..." - said Ms. Le Thi Ngoc Han, Chairwoman of the company's Trade Union.

The Trade Union of Ty Thac Co., Ltd. (Thap Muoi commune) held its 3rd Congress of Delegates for the term 2025-2030.

According to the set direction, trade union levels are focusing on innovating the content and methods of operation, overcoming bureaucratization, and shifting strongly from one-way propaganda to dialogue, listening to and accompanying union members and workers at the grassroots level.

Monitoring activities and participation in the development and implementation of democratic regulations in enterprises continue to be emphasized, linked to improving the effectiveness of negotiating, signing, and implementing collective labor agreements.

In addition, the provincial trade union continues to focus on improving the capacity of its staff. Trade unions, through training courses, develop skills in negotiation, labor law counseling, communication skills, and understanding public opinion among workers.

The goal is to build a team of trade union officials who are "close to the workers, close to the grassroots," and capable of representing and promptly addressing issues arising in labor relations.

Comrade Huynh Thi Tuyet Vui, President of the Dong Thap Provincial Federation of Labor, presents gifts to the children of union members and workers on the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival.

A key focus for the upcoming term is the promotion of information technology application and digital transformation in trade union activities. Areas such as membership management, innovation in trade union activities, and receiving suggestions and feedback from workers will be gradually implemented through the digital environment.

This not only helps shorten administrative procedures and increase transparency, but also facilitates easier and faster access to trade union organizations for union members and workers in all situations.

Simultaneously, the work of disseminating information and mobilizing union members has been reformed in both content and methods, focusing on digital media channels and social networks to enhance reach and suitability for the specific characteristics of young workers and shift workers. Through this, the trade union organization continues to affirm its role as a reliable bridge between workers and businesses, and between workers and local authorities.

TOWARDS AN EFFECTIVE AND SUSTAINABLE TERM

Besides the task of innovating its operational methods, the Dong Thap Provincial Trade Union has also identified several key goals and tasks for the new term, focusing on developing union membership and expanding the coverage of the trade union organization, while building a strong and effective organization. Developing union membership is not only significant for the organization but also provides a condition for workers to benefit from the welfare, security, and protection policies of the trade union.

The grassroots trade union of Freeview Industrial Vietnam Company (Tan Huong Industrial Park, Tan Huong commune) presented gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances.

In the context of a labor market still fraught with uncertainties, especially for workers in industrial zones and clusters, trade unions are oriented towards continuing to strengthen activities aimed at improving the material and spiritual well-being of their members.

Welfare programs for union members, assistance for those in need, legal counseling, job placement, etc., will be implemented in a flexible and diverse manner, ensuring they closely match the actual needs of each target group.

Recognizing income as a top priority, the Trade Union of Royal Foods Vietnam Co., Ltd. (My Tho Industrial Park) proactively negotiated to include in the Collective Labor Agreement several allowances higher than those stipulated by law, specifically: an attendance allowance of 250,000 VND/person/month; an allowance of 15,000 VND/day for direct production workers and 10,000 VND/day for overtime.

Workers at Royal Foods Co., Ltd. who have completed vocational training for 6 months or more receive an additional 7% salary (equivalent to approximately VND 291,200/month); allowances for arduous and hazardous work, and seniority allowances are maintained at a stable rate. Notably, the company always guarantees the payment of a 13th-month salary (a bonus of 1-2 months' salary), with the total annual amount exceeding VND 3.5 billion…

Comrade Hoang Khac Tinh, Standing Vice Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial Federation of Labor, presented the Decision to establish the grassroots trade union of Vinh Chiet Production and Trading Company Limited (Vinh Binh commune).

In addition, the provincial trade union focuses on participating in building harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations in enterprises, through strengthening regular and thematic dialogues; promptly understanding the thoughts and aspirations of workers; and proactively coordinating with employers to resolve difficulties and minimize disputes.

Improving the quality of collective bargaining agreements is also considered one of the important solutions to ensure the long-term rights of union members and workers.

In the coming term, the Dong Thap Provincial Trade Union will continue to set the goal of innovating the emulation and reward system, focusing strongly on the grassroots level, and honoring outstanding collectives and individuals in labor, production, and trade union activities. This will contribute to fostering a sense of responsibility, self-learning, and skill improvement, meeting the development requirements of businesses and the locality.

At the same time, the Provincial Trade Union also aims to strengthen coordination with sectors, organizations, businesses, and local authorities in implementing programs to care for workers; proactively participate in the province's socio -economic development programs; and contribute to building an increasingly strong working class to meet the development requirements of the new era.

With a determination to innovate content and methods of operation; improve the quality of grassroots trade unions; provide practical care for union members and workers; and uphold the tradition of solidarity, responsibility, and creativity, the Dong Thap Provincial Trade Union enters its new term with renewed confidence and enthusiasm; hoping to become an important foundation for the trade union organization to continue affirming its role as a reliable support for workers, accompanying the sustainable development of businesses and localities in the future.
