Dong Thap: Launching the Month of Action for Children

(DTO) On May 29th, the Department of Health, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Department of Education and Training, and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the province jointly organized the launching ceremony for the Month of Action for Children, the opening of the summer, the Children's Olympic Day, and the launching of the provincial-level campaign for all citizens to practice swimming to prevent drowning in 2026.

The program awarded 100 scholarships and many gifts to the students.

The program is organized to raise awareness and responsibility among all levels, sectors, families, and society in the protection, care, and education of children; and to promote the provision of comprehensive services for children, especially protecting children in the online environment and ensuring their safety in the digital age.

The program donated 100 bicycles and many other gifts to the students.

The program contributes to mobilizing and prioritizing the allocation of resources from the entire society to better implement the rights of children, especially children in special circumstances, children living in border communes, and communes with difficult socio -economic conditions in the province.

Specifically, at the program, organizations and benefactors donated symbolic checks totaling over 1.6 billion VND, along with thousands of notebooks and gifts, to the "Supporting Students to School" and "Shelter for Students" programs. The program awarded 100 scholarships (each worth 1 million VND), 100 bicycles, and many other gifts to disadvantaged students in the province.

Furthermore, the program also promotes the implementation of the "National Movement for Physical Training Following the Example of the Great President Ho Chi Minh"; it encourages and mobilizes children to actively participate in physical exercise, sports , and recreational activities to improve their health, physical fitness, stature, cultivate qualities, ethics, personality, life skills, and comprehensive development, as well as prevent and combat accidents, injuries, and drowning among children.
