Vietnam's Nine Dynastic Urns dossier was approved with an absolute vote of 23/23 at the UNESCO Conference.

On May 8, 2024, in the capital city of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, the dossier "The reliefs on nine bronze cauldrons in the Hue Imperial Palace" (also known as the Nine Cauldrons) of Vietnam was approved and officially became a documentary heritage of the UNESCO Asia- Pacific Memory of the World Program.

From May 6-10, 2024, Vietnam attended the 10th General Conference of the Asia-Pacific Regional Committee of the Memory of the World Programme of the United NationsEducational , Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) held in the capital city of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

At the Conference, delegates reviewed the work and developed a plan for the MOWCAP Program in the coming time, and approved 20 dossiers from 11 countries for recognition of documentary heritage of the UNESCO Memory of the World Program for Asia - Pacific, including: India, China, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, Mongolia and Vietnam; Australia and Tuvalu.

With its outstanding values in terms of information content, unique form, and especially its significance to the Asia-Pacific region, Vietnam's Nine Dynastic Urns dossier was approved with an absolute vote of 23/23.

According to Mr. Nguyen Tuan Cuong, Director of the Institute of Han Nom, a member of the Vietnamese delegation, the reliefs on the nine bronze cauldrons in the Hue Royal Palace were cast by King Minh Mang in 1835. This is a valuable heritage and a unique and rare source of documents with many historical, cultural - educational, geographical values... demonstrating the calligraphy and bronze casting art of the Vietnamese people. The reliefs on the nine bronze cauldrons also preserve many values about the cultural and social exchanges and contacts between Vietnam and countries in the East Asia region.

Within the framework of the Conference, Dr. Vu Thi Minh Huong, member of the National Cultural Heritage Council, was re-elected as Vice President of the UNESCO Memory of the World Committee for the Asia-Pacific region for the 2024-2028 term.

Ms. Le Thi Hong Van, Secretary General of the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO, assessed the registration of the new documentary heritage dossier and the continued election of Dr. Vu Minh Huong as Vice President of the UNESCO Memory of the World Committee for the Asia-Pacific region as double good news. This shows the support and trust of the international community in Vietnam's ability to contribute and its management capacity at UNESCO, as well as recognition of Vietnam's positive contributions in the field of cultural cooperation in general and documentary heritage in particular.
