The Provincial Party Standing Committee gave its opinion on the plan to build the province's Victory Square and Monument.

Comrade Ngo Chi Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the 15th National Assembly Delegation of Tra Vinh province chaired the conference.

Attending the conference were Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, members of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee; leaders of the Department of Construction, Department of Planning and Investment, Department of Finance; Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Management Board of Investment Projects for Construction of Civil and Industrial Works of Tra Vinh Province.

Tra Vinh province is an important trade gateway of the Mekong Delta region. Currently, the province has not invested in building a Square, so it faces difficulties in organizing rallies, political and social events of the province, and places for urban communities to participate in cultural activities... Therefore, the construction of the Square and Victory Monument of the province in the current context is necessary.

Comrade Le Minh Tan, Director of the Department of Construction, reported on the construction plans for the province's Square and Victory Monument.

The project's objective is to invest in the complete and synchronous construction of Tra Vinh Provincial Square, including the square yard, Victory Monument, walking paths, promenades, green tree systems, lawns, etc., creating a landscape axis along Vo Nguyen Giap Street, connecting from the provincial administrative and political square to the Provincial Conference Center area.

Regarding the design plan, for the Victory Stele: demolish the existing Victory Stele, reinvest in a new Victory Stele at the planned location (in front of the Conference Center Guest House), the new stele is larger than the existing stele with a ratio of 1.3/1.0; in terms of content and form, it is similar to the existing stele (main facade facing Vo Nguyen Giap Street).

For the architectural plan of the Square and Victory Stele, the consulting unit proposed 03 options.

At the conference, delegates listened to and watched a video clip introducing design options for the Square and Victory Monument; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee gave their comments.

Provincial Party Secretary Ngo Chi Cuong directed: The Department of Construction, consulting and design units and relevant departments, branches and divisions to receive comments from the members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, supplement, edit and complete the contents, and take steps to build according to the plan chosen by the Provincial Party Committee.
