When she became famous, Phuong Thanh worked hard to perform and saved up 8 taels of gold. She shared with her lover her dream of buying her mother a new, spacious house, and he contributed 7 more taels of gold.
From then on, Phuong Thanh bought a house worth the equivalent of 26 taels of gold, and paid the rest in installments. She continued to borrow money to buy construction materials to renovate the house and then worked hard to earn money to pay off the debt.
Nowadays, Phuong Thanh has better economic conditions, but the mother and daughter still live in this house because they cherish the memories. Her mother wants to keep everything as is, and has not allowed any renovations to the house.
It took her many years of persuasion, especially with the excuse that her daughter - Ga (Phuong Thanh's daughter's nickname - PV) was grown up, before her mother allowed her to renovate the house.
At 50, Phuong Thanh has changed a lot. The singer and her mother used to argue because of their hot tempers, but her current joy is coming home to cook for her grandmother after a day of work.
"When family problems are resolved, I see my mother become younger, we are closer, and the whole house is always filled with laughter," she said.
Also in the program, Phuong Thanh revealed her relationship with rapper Tien Dat, which she considers to be like blood.
Thanks to Tien Dat taking her to India, Phuong Thanh had the chance to come to Buddhism. From then on, the two went hand in hand from work to private life.
