As of 10:00 a.m. on August 26, due to the influence of storm No. 5, the water level of Thanh Lanh Lake has reached an elevation of +76.67m and is continuing to rise.
According to the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue, Tam Dao Irrigation Company Limited, starting from 5:00 p.m. on August 26, 2025, Thanh Lanh Lake will discharge spillway to Cote elevation +75.00m, with a flow rate of 10m3/s to 50m3/s depending on the development of rain and flood.
The regulation of overflow discharge is carried out to ensure the safety of the reservoir, while maintaining water sources for production and daily life of the people and limiting flooding in the downstream area.
Thanh Lanh Lake started spillway discharge from 5:00 p.m. on August 26 to continue responding to the circulation of storm No. 5.
Currently, along with the water discharge, the authorities have deployed vehicles and materials according to the approved Thanh Lanh Lake flood control and rescue plan; set up checkpoints at culverts and spillways, ensuring absolute safety for people and vehicles during the regulation period. Localities in the downstream areas are also required to proactively develop plans to respond to flooding, protecting people's lives and property.
The reservoir management board said that monitoring, patrolling and guarding at the project will be maintained 24/7 to promptly detect and handle any arising situations, ensuring the safety of the reservoir and the safety of downstream areas during the period affected by storm No. 5.
