On July 21, the Ministry of Finance held the "9th National Press Award for the Finance Sector in 2025" ceremony, which was solemnly held to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnamese Finance Sector (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2025).
At the Award Ceremony, Central Party Committee Member, Party Secretary, Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang attended and presented the Special Prize.
This year's press awards recorded strong influence with the attraction of more than 2,700 entries in all four types of press (print, electronic, radio, and television).
At the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Duc Chi, Head of the Organizing Committee, emphasized the special significance of this year's competition, which is associated with the event of the Finance sector celebrating its 80th anniversary of establishment and development. Accordingly, the entries covered a wide range of fields, further clarifying historical milestones and affirming the important role of the Finance sector in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
After two preliminary and final rounds, the Award Council selected the best works to honor. The Organizing Committee awarded 4 A prizes, 20 B prizes, 28 C prizes to authors and groups of authors with outstanding works, and 9 press agencies with many contributions to the success of the contest were also awarded Certificates of Merit by the Minister of Finance.

At the ceremony, VietnamPlus Electronic Newspaper (Vietnam News Agency) was honored to receive 3 awards, including 1 Collective Award - Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Finance for the collective with outstanding achievements and positive contributions to information and propaganda work in the financial sector; 1 B prize awarded to the group of authors Cao Thuy Giang and Nguyen Thi Thuy with the work "Ensuring social security: The National Assembly closely follows the breath of life"; 1 C prize awarded to author Nguyen Thi Hanh with the work "Overcoming challenges, seizing opportunities and prospects in 2025."
The Special Prize of this year's contest was awarded to the group of authors Cao Thi Thanh Tra and Vu Van Nhat (News Department, Vietnam Television) with the television report series "Insurance industry strives to support and compensate customers affected by storm No. 3 ( Yagi )."

According to the Award Council, this year's works are of outstanding quality, diverse in genre and rich in theme, closely following current events, addressing many new issues in the country's economic and financial practices. Through the works, the role and achievements of the Finance sector have been affirmed, spreading the image of a dynamic, innovative sector, effectively contributing to the common development.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Duc Chi affirmed that throughout the 80-year journey, the achievements of the Finance sector have always had the great companionship, support and sharing of press agencies and the team of Vietnamese revolutionary journalists.

First held in 2006, the National Journalism Award on Finance has been successfully held for 9 consecutive years, increasingly affirming its prestige and attracting enthusiastic participation from a large number of journalists nationwide. The award is a practical activity to encourage and motivate news agencies and newspapers to actively promote the financial policies of the Party and State.
Also at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duc Chi officially launched the contest "The 10th National Journalism Award on the Finance Sector in 2027", aiming to celebrate the 82nd anniversary of the sector's Traditional Day. Accordingly, the Organizing Committee expressed its desire to continue receiving enthusiastic responses from journalists, contributing to clarifying the glorious imprints of the sector and proposing solutions to build a strong national finance in the new era./.
